Fox is good, but he's not super max good.

I'm pretty cool with shipping him out. I just hope he doesn't "Klutch" us out of a good return.

I would rather move Fox than sign him to a super max he isn't that good.

If San Antonio lands Fox and Houston doesn't even put up an offer and SA leapfrogs them (and they will with or without Fox) LMFAO.

I tend to agree with you. I don’t think any team will pay him that kind of money except the kings but historically, we know the Kings will overpay and he will get it if he stays. I think the kings can use their money and much better ways and probably net back Some decent value. Unlike a lot of posters, I do not have a crystal ball. I can’t say with 100% certainty anything will or should happen. I just look at probabilities and think that he is unlikely to be much better than he is now which is a top point guard in the league, but not the guy that puts the team on his back and wins when the chips are down night after night after night.

Posturing. Almost no one in the NBA is truly untouchable, and there’s not a single team in the NBA that has a 15 man roster full of untouchable players
 
I'm not sure how I feel about all this right now.

I hate that Fox wants out after all this time, but I'm also not sure he's a supermax player that can be the first (or even second) best player on a true contender.

The Kings roster badly needs to be balanced out, but being forced to trade an all-star (or near all-star) talent to do it is a bad position to be in. Especially if he's going to dictate which teams he will and won't go to. That severely depresses his market value.

Monk/Ellis/Carter is a hell of a guard rotation, though neither Keon or Devin are really guys I want handling the ball a ton.

We'll see what happens. I think at this point being a long time Kings fan has just made me a bit numb. I logged in this afternoon to see the news and just sort of shrugged.
 
What about a three team deal with Chicago where we land Lavine and 3 first round picks if we don’t like the young players the Spurs have?
 
The games without Fox showed we are competitive. Ellis starting adds huge defense, Monk fills in a lot of playmaking and initiation, and Deebo is a phenomenal closer. Fox is superfluous if we add wing depth, rebounding, and 3 point shooting.

the only thing we truly lose with Fox gone is needing to find a replacement for Deebo given his age, but we have plenty of time for that

LaVine is defintely playing well this season (at least on the offensive end) but if he and DeRozan weren't working all that well in Chicago, why would it be different in Sacramento beyond having Domas as a playmaker? I'm legitimately asking.
 
I don't think what Fox does will be replaceable. We didn't replace Haliburton with another guard either. The goal in this sport is still 10 feet above the floor and if we can trade for some size we'll find a close approximation to fill in for Fox.

Even with his speed currently, he’s always going to be limited with our current roster. We need outside shooting and that just isn’t going to happen with him. He’s also got a laundry list of nagging injuries the last couple of years which really affect his game. He plays in most of the games, but has been ineffective at times and occasionally a detriment. He’s been a favorite of mine, but it’s very clear that he’s not quite as invested as he once was. Couple of years ago, I thought he was going to take us from a surprise seed to a legitimate threat and that he was going to be a superstar. But none of those things have happened. He’s a star, but a couple of rungs below the elite.

Correctly stated here.... Fox is letting his agent **** things up. If he really would be happy staying in Sac, I don't understand why he's allowing this. To force Monte to make a win-now move at the trade deadline? Doesn't make sense. He is looking to leave.
