Never could've said it any better myself.it was amazing and very impressive but it was not a dunk. Technically, should have not counted. They took Rip's threes away because he stepped on the line. Double standards but NBA is entertainment & money first and sports - sometimes
I agree with you. I really wasn't going to watch it this year and the only reason I turned it on last night because nothing is was on. I'm glad I decided to watch it. Watching Dwight Howard was just amazing. I also like the 3 point shooting contest (I was rooting for Peja), however, Jason Kapono was on fire. This All-Star weekend has actually ended up being much more entertaining that I expected.![]()
lol what in god's name would it have took to impress you? him flying from half court, doing a somersault in the air three or four times before throwing it off the backboard and dunking it in reverse?
seriously that was amazing. An amazing dunk.

Dunk: A shot thrown downward through the basket, with one or two hands. Also: slam, slam-dunk, jam
We've missed having you express the "beating a dead horse" opinion, sloter.
It was a dunk.
But now to the All-Star game. What is up with those jerseys?!? You can't tell the teams apart when the east has their backs turned and the west faces forward. Even if the players don't get confused, I sure am as a viewer.
I guess I wasn't the first to notice, either.![]()
VF21 said:I see the Kings did make a contribution after all. Those West uniforms sure look like they've used some of the excess gold lamé we had laying around the team store and anywhere else all the unused, unsold merchandise is kept.
That I agree with. Left hand tip was great and back of the backboard was, too.Well, on a positive note, the "dunk" in question was Howard's third best dunk of the night, so that says something about his performance...

Now, back to the game? I see the Kings did make a contribution after all. Those West uniforms sure look like they've used some of the excess gold lamé we had laying around the team store and anywhere else all the unused, unsold merchandise is kept.

I didn't say "lame"... I said "lamé" which is a type of material woven with flat gold or silver thread.
Now, as far as answering the question about your purchase, I refuse to answer...
Dear, dear Gargy - They announced that your team doctors called Byron Scott and the west trainers and told them to wrap his two fingers together and NOT let him play any more, regardless of what he might say. So it's on your team, not Stern or Byron Scott.
Personally, I think it shows what a brave little soldier Kobe is to even show up, considering the excruciating pain he must be suffering. How noble of him to show up anyway, thereby keeping anyone else from having to make last minute travel plans.
If I was a coach of the West - I would play him 48 minutes and make him drive to the basket every time
It's on Byron - his call, not theirs. He happens to know Vitti very well. There's that word again...colllluuuuuuusion.![]()
Kobe is a selfish bastard. So many deserving players in the West didn't make it and he has to play his 3 minutes instead of letting another guy get some bredit too.
I too was under the impression he didn't want to play but there's a league rule that says he had to. I think the rule sucks a bit but I understand the idea.Actually it's Kobe's call. He could have stayed home and let someone else take the spot but noooooooooo.
