Amare is ahead of Brand! The fans should not get to decide this, we fans have proven every year that we are unable of picking deserving players.

the all star game as a whole now is crap. its just a money maker, the players don't care about winning, it means nothing. i spit on the all game. paaaatooeeeiiii

It doesn't make a difference if Amare is ahead of Brand. The starting lineups look fine to me - pretty much how I'd vote.

While I dont agree that Yao is #1 overall, think some China votes helped on that one. He is one of the better centers in the West for sure. Even though I think he is soft, eats cotton candy at halftime and cannot win a game unless a real star like Tmac is around him.

some? SOME?? haha i find that hilarious... it accounts for most or ALL of his votes..

as for the whole voting thig, i could give a rats a** who plays and who doesnt... i just wanna see a good dunk contest the night before.. and damn it these freakin players(lebron, kobe, etc..) dont even wanna join and it makes it boring:D .

That's crazy- McGrady has put up decent numbers, but he missed half the season. KG, Nowitzki Duncan should be 1-3, and Carmelo should be behind Brand, and probably Marion, too. Carmelo is just scoring. The other 2 guys are doing everything. This is really looking like a culmination of the last 3 years, weighted by media coverage and name recognition (in other words, a typical all-star game)

Well, Kobe's already won it and has obviously established himself. LeBron I wish would of done it/do it, guess he's scared to lose and has establishment.

Usually it's six, this would be my 6:

Josh Smith (defending champ, and it's Josh Smith)

Fred Jones (why not go for it again, and didn't defend it last year)

Andre Iguodala (would love to see him in it)

Dahntay Jones (underrated good young player, and a great dunker, be a good way to get himself out there)

Maurice Evans or JR Smith

Nate Robinson (this guy can SKY, and has something like a 42 inch vertical leap, also be fun to see another little man in it)

As long as the fans vote, it will be strictly a popularity contest. I remember when Vince Carter hadn't played all season and still got voted in. That's when I realized how totally ridiculous the whole thing was. And yet people refer to players as "all-stars," as tho it is some accolade about their abilities or talent. Big whoop!

You would start TMac and Shaq after they've been hurt most the season? Plus Camby probably deserves to start over Yao this season.

wow...chris mihm shouldn't even be on the friggin allstar ballot. neither should erick dampier... the vote leaders at center should be(in this order):

Camby
Okur
Miller/yao

TMac... OK I would have voted for Garnett and Duncan but I'm not as upset as maybe I should be about him being there. I guess I didn't see the "pitiful Rockets with two all stars" connection - my bad.

Shaq for sure I would vote for in spite of the injury. I don't see anything wrong with it - you vote for who you want to see play, and I think Shaq and Yao are the only two centers in the NBA.

Shaq is the MDE.

Because he is. He's in the west centers ballot. ;)

YAO MING IS HORRIBLE. i don't know who's softer between him and brad miller. china has like 2 billion people. we all know who their voting for.

Camby
Okur
Miller
Yao
Dampier
Olowokandi

Fragile Beast
Soft
Soft
Finesse/''Soft"
Underachiever
Michael F'n Olowokandi

The fact that Olowokandi is a canadate shows the current situation of centers. I'd take Camby (leading the league in rebounds) and Yao (20 and 9 in 30 mins) this situation. At least their numbers resemble something close to Allstar Centers.
