Adelman's Win Trend - Time to Go

I think Adleman is a decent coach, but it is obvious that he has lost his effectiveness. Look at the attached PDF. His win history shows that he makes a huge impact at first and then the wins start to dissappear. This probably isn't that un common for most coaches. But what does it show?

It shows that over time, players stop listening. Who are the two players that are giving us good hustle? (SAR and Bonzi) Why is that? Could it be because they are new?

If you are a sub, in Adelman's system, you have no chance of really proving yourself. You know that no matter what you do, you will never start. Likewise, if you are a "beloved starter" with Adelman you can do no wrong. So where is the motivation?

I'm posting this "chart" because I thought it was interesting. I'm curious to here your comments.

Well. I would say that that chart doesn't say quite what you think it does, because the true key factor in both franchises' decline was the aging and decline of its core, combined with a failure to secure a next generation fo players at that level.

Also can't think of anytime before the last 6 months when there was really any debate who should be starting. Peja in his second year maybe. But of course there we DID elevate him. And Bobby was always close, but behind more established purer points.

Nonetheless, I would say that its almost guaranteed that Rick will ocah his final game as a King at some point in the next 5 months. When he does so he will have close to as many victories as ALL of the coaches of the Sacramento Kings who preceded him combined. It may be time. But let's hope to hell we get somebody to replace him closer to his level than to Rex Hughes'.

Good points.

I'm not saying that Adelman is "starting the wrong players", but rather he gives those starters their "playing time" regardless of their actions. Players live and die by playing time. If they don't play, they can't make their numbers, and therefore can't command the high salaries.

It almost seems like Adelman doesn't really have a strategy. I think the starters are the best players, but they need to know that if they don't try then they sit.

And the reason why they stop listening to him is that there is no accountability. If the starters play bad, they are still guaranteed their 35+ minutes. Lets hope that this changes....
