Give me a break! At this time last year we had the same horrible record. Rick Adelman would most likely been as bad if not worse than last season. Everyone is giving Muss such a god dam hard time for us F-ing up, but it is not his fault. Although I do question some of Muss actions, in the long run he will be better than dam Rick Adelman.

And this is just as silly. It will take one heck of a lot of seasons wins and playoff appearance to prove Musselman is even as good an NBA head coach as Adelman.
Having said that, I'm not in the fire EM right now camp. But he sure hasn't impressed or inspired me much so far.

Indeed. Muss misses the playoffs this year he will have already done so more times in 3 years than Rick did in 16.
And I should note if he doesn't drastically shape up there is no long run for Muss.

I think history is relavent in this discussion. It would be against the norm to see an Adelman coached team end up out of the playoffs.

yes, i do. rick adelman is a better coach than eric musselman. therefore i believe this team would be better coached under rick adelman. whether or not the team is "better" or "worse" than last season is largely irrelevant in the context of this particular discussion. RA would get more out of these players than musselman.
again, that's all beside the point, because i think the kings will be better off in the long run. however, it irritates me to see a healthy number of kings fans trampling all over the legacy and winning culture that rick adelman left behind.

These players are not this bad. At the very least, I blame all the third quarter meltdowns on Muss because whatever he does at half-time has a terrible effect on the team. He clearly does not inspire or motivate them at all.

There's no question in my mind that this team would be better with Adelman at the helm.
Now, whether or not that's a long-term better, or a better record is really beneficial to the team at this point, is a completely different question, but we'd have more wins than we do right now.
If by in the long run, you mean dropping the anchor INSIDE of the boat so it sinks to the bottom, thereby getting us a higher draft pick and forcing the Maloofs to build to the future, then YES, Muss will be better.
This team has no identity. With Adelman, love it or hate it, it had an identity. I think Rick Adelman would have had a more consistent Ron-Ron. Think of how that team ended the year...not too bad.
How is the roster any better? Everyone remembers Bonzi against the Spurs. Newsflash, he didn't play that well all season. In fact, as I recall, he missed a bunch of games in December and January (indeed, he played only 52 games all season). Kevin Martin is greatly improved. The difference for Rick from up till this point last year and the rest of the season was Peja for Artest. And we know what happened from there.
So, essentially, the roster is the same as it was at the end of the season. Bonzi-Kevin-Francisco becomes Kevin-Francisco-Quincy. Plus John Salmons. It's the same damn roster as the end of the last season, possibly better. And Adelman won like 2/3 of his games with this roster, while Muss has won 40%.
The Adelman haters are hilarious. Arguing that Rick would have done as bad? Hah. Arguing that Muss is going to be a better coach "in the long run" than "dam (sic) Rick Adelman"? You are delusional.

You may want to note the numbers Miller and Bibby were putting up last year vs. this year. You can go coach vs. coach all you want and indeed Adleman was the better coach as he should be on experience alone. But the brutal point is Miller and Bibby are knocking down their shots like they have in the past. Boths averages are down 6pts per game and % is down for both as well. When 2 focal points of the offense aren't hitting shots and not hitting near the previous years % you are going to lose alot of games.......

Unfortunately which is of course stupid in itself, since by waiting and not facilitating the process they are virtually guaranteeing blowing the whole deal. We suck, but not bad enough to get that holy grail player. Unless we help the process.
"Waiting" has become this franchise's buzzword for "have no clue what to do, so let's go play some golf."

Honestly I would rather see us trade for an expiring or 2 and a young player or 2. I would rather see us get a good pick. If we stay with this roster we will probably end up with the 10th-11th pick and no cap room. I would hate to see us make a "salvage the season" type move like the Artest deal last year.
I agree with bricklayer that the Kings need to make deals for short contracts, young players, and 1-2 more picks.
I guess I'm simply not as convinced of their ineptitude as you are, Brickie... I still have a glimmer of hope that there will be a combination of draft, expiring contracts, free agents and trades that put us back on the right path.

I don't know that anyone knows a timetable for sure, STK. It's not like there are blueprints out there that describe the right way to do things...
And I'm still not convinced there isn't a plan Petrie is following. Just because we don't see anything doesn't mean nothing is happening. We didn't see anything before Petrie started to assemble the last team, either...
