a thought about the matchup

like the lakers, the spurs have dominated this decade. until the 04' pistons showed up the sacramento kings were the team that presented a much bigger challenge to these two teams. now going into a series for the first time ever with the defending champs i have only a few things to say. this spurs team reached a franchise record of 63 wins. does it mean that they are better this year than the previous years? with injuries to duncan and adding non defensive players like finley and nick? their record would tell you yes. the kings are without a doubt missing 5 of the 7 most memorable kings in franchise History. vlade, christie, webber, peja and bobby. no, things will not be the same this time around. the only one that remains from the tough matchups we had against the NBA's elite is mike bibby. with brad miller, ron artest, kenny thomas, kevin martin, bonzi wells, corliss williamson and shareef abdur rahim The kings will try to eliminate the champs. sacramento definately has momentum from finishing the season at 9-2.

Thats right! And Bibby may be the only one who remains, but even he is a different player now. People likes to compare this team to our last successful one, and I think that is wrong. This is a DIFFERENT team, with a different swagger. We may not be the team that everyone thinks is going to win, but I'll bet coaches want to avoid us if you asked 'em. We are a hard team to study on tape, and we have just as many mismatches in our favor as we have weaknesses.
