Zanesville High is retiring his jersey (and from what his Grandmother has told me, they are also putting a Kings jersey in the trophy case alongside of the High School one) Here is a note from the Ohio paper, written by Kevin.

I am deeply honored that Zanesville high school is retiring my jersey and number, a jersey I wore for Zanesville with great pride and love. I loved playing for my school, and for our loyal and loud basketball fans.
There have been some amazing people in my life that I'd like to thank -- people who helped to guide and teach me about finding my place in this world.
My parents, brother, and grandparents, who have always provided a home full of love, support and discipline. They are my true heroes.
My college coach, Steve Shurina, who made the bold decision to let a skinny freshman from Zanesville lead his senior-laden team, and who challenged me to get better each year than I was the year before. And my Catamount teammates, who selflessly played alongside me and genuinely cared about my future.
My personal coach, David Thorpe, who told me that being a first round NBA pick doesen't have to be just a dream, then taught me how to make that dream a reality.
And my agent, Jason Levien, whom I can never thank enough for his honesty and devotion to my success.
But I owe a special thank you to my Blue Devil teammates and the fans at Zanesville High. And to the best coach I've ever had -- Coach Scott Aronhalt. Coach Aronhalt's program demanded so much from me, and taught me so much in return, that his lessons will be ingrained in me for the rest of my life.
You may see "Sacramento Kings" on my jersey, but I'm really just a Devil in disguise.
Thank you, Zanesville High School, for all you have done for my family and me, and I can't wait to get down there and see all of you real soon.
With great love and respect,
Kevin Martin
