Taking this game-by-game breakdown into account, this would give us 38 wins with the tie breaker over the Nuggets if we tied because we would own the season series 3-1. I like our chances then.
To my knowledge, the only team we currently don't have the tie-break lead with is the Blazers. Am I right?
I will also add that I think one of the road games against the Spurs needs to be one of those games in black. Maybe not both but one of them. I don't see us being the Spurs in San Antonio twice in one season.

Home or on the road, I take games against the Warriors and Spurs as very probable Ls. Those teams are WAY too superior to us, IMHO, and we must NEVER depend on games against them to achieve our goals...
I could have included the Rockets in this list too, due to matchup, but I decided they are more winnable, at least in home games.

Man I'm gonna be so nervous for those Nuggets games. I think we have a good chance, very favorable schedule.

I am aiming for 40 or 41 win season and the 8th spot in the playoffs!

Its good experience, those games are gonna be playoff type games given how close we are and all three games are all within a few weeks of eachother.

They have a brutal schedule but they do hold the tie break over us I believe.

I'm just not sure why there is much reason to have any confidence in them. Deeply flawed team. Still not sure how they made that fluke run last year, but just haven't seen any of that fire this time around. has to be exhausting trying to win that way every night.
Denver though is scary because of how they have responded to Jokic's emergence. A great center and a lot more top to bottom talent on the rest of their roster than we have. Like Portland though, their defense makes ours look outstanding.

With all the injuries we have copped lately, I think it will be almost impossible for us to make it. We really have both hands tied behind our back at the moment. I think we will give it everything and won't die wondering but I think we will fall short and Nuggets might just pinch that spot.
Unless of course we pull a major trade in the next week or so but I just can't see it happening.

They made that fluke run last year because:
- CJ McCollum caught the whole league napping, and
- Lillard was in full Salty Ass Damian Lillard™ mode.

The thing I keep going back to in my mind is that we have got ourselves a game and a half out of the 8th seed while being decimated with injuries. Just off the top of my head we have Casspi, Lawson, Gay,and Temple who have missed several games this season (and that does not count Collison serving a suspension). Outside of Gay and Richardson, everyone else should be back after the All-Star break.
Agree, the hamstring injuries are going to "hamstring" the team.
Really depends if Malone screws up again by taking minutes and usage away from Jokic when they get healthy. They got a nice balance right now with Barton-Chandler-Jokic being the offensive leaders and Nelson doing the "savy vet" thing. Plumlee is a great fit there too with Jokic and gives them 2 really great passing bigs. Will be interesting to see what happens when Gallo and Mudiay get back.

I've seen rumors on both of those guys, especially Mudiay, so it seems like Denver is well aware of what they currently have and that perhaps neither of them are essential to team success. They can get solid returns on both of those guys and if they do, I think it essentially locks them into the 8th spot. Denver has a good group and their supporting cast > our supporting case by a mile right now.
Nuggets still can't play any defense, so any games against teams, that can put up points in a hurry are not a guarantee for them, even if they look like that on the paper: @Bucks, Lakers and @Blazers; they have 3 games left vs Rockets, and at this moment that's almost guaranteed 3 losses. But the key would be 3 games against Kings and Pelicans each.
Pels lost their only game at home by 5 points, but that was without a bunch of players, while replacements played their first official game. Pels are not going away as they just beat Grizzlies on the road.
If Kings take 2 out of 3 games in Denver series, they will have the tie-breaker on both Pels and Nugs.
