76ers/Spurs...

Well, Webb had a good game tonight vs. Spurs:

21 pts (8-20 FG, 5-6 FT), 12 boards. Nice to see, second game back.

Then Steven Hunter comes outta nowhere with this: 24 pts (9-15 FG, 6-8 FT), 8 rebs, 2 blocks.

Iguodala holding the fort (w/ Salmons) while Iverson is out for a bit, having one of his kinda games: 9 pts, 8 ast, 4 rebs, 3 stls.

That's really nice to see for Philly. Along with John Salmons great play all pre-season long, and Deng Gai's solid play. Gai should make the team, if not, that'll surprise me. Also if not, Kings should pick him up ;). Dalembert just needs to get into things again, and AI should be fine for next week.

Good to see for CWebb in only his second game.
Dalembert's quad obviously isn't healed, he reaggravated it. I've heard good things about Salmons, looking forward to seeing him play.

Glad to hear chris is had a good game. I think i read somewhere that dalembert may have been outta shape coming into camp,so that may add to his woes(if true).

That's great to hear about CWebb! And Steven Hunter, I was surprised when i saw that. John Salmons has been doing exellent this preseason! That's awesome. Sixers got a real good squad this season.

Dalembert is coming off injury. He just came back earlier this week in a game. He said himself he's still getting used to playing again. That's alright for now though, Steven Hunter and possibly Gai can spell him.

Let's look at Webber's entire game last night. Yes, he scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds. He also missed 12 shots and had 6 turnovers.

21 points on 20 shots. Yep, mid-season form for Webb :D

Exactly. I wouldn't be throwing a party if my power forward shot 40% from the field.

He matched his oppenents production in that area, Duncan had 7 turnovers. Anyone actually watch the game, Why the high turnover rate between the two?

Shooting is overrated, says I; if you shoot forty percent from the field, but get all the offensive rebounds, you're ahead of the game...

it's nice to see the rebounding # high -- hopefully it's a sign that his knee is healthier than it has been... as far as the other numbers, well, obviously if Webber had 6 turnovers and Duncan had 7 they are both past their prime so they should both be waived!;) Seriously though, I don't worry much about preseason stats, but I'm hoping that if Webb can start rebounding better this year he'll do well this season.

Yeah, he had a good game, and I have to say that he looks more mobile than last year. But as others pointed out, he took 20 shots to get 21 points, not good.

OTOH, If you shoot 100% from the field and grab 0 offensive rebounds, you are ahead of the game.

That argument is as flawed as yours is. Chances of a team shooting 100% from the field or getting all the offensive rebounds are infinitely low.

Yeah, because shooting percentage is so much more important than points scored and rebounds grabbed.

Yep. But for some, no matter what Webber does, it won't be good enough. And that's fine...
