Yeah, Nigel Hayes level picks trying to stick.
Danny Wolf at least looked interesting as a big with a bit of off the dribble feel before he sprained his ankle but these other guys have been rough.

Jordi has been trying to win but his players are just not good enough to do it haha

Yeah, he's good. He looks like he's going to translate nicely.

Maxine makes me less sad about this season. Appears we will finish 4th worst. Obviously not the best but the worst team never gets the first pick. I’m feeling optimistic about our pick. I also hate Boozer so if we can’t get the first I am worried we will be tempted to take Boozer if we get 2nd or 3rd
As long as we can hang on to the 4th worst position, we have a 92-93% chance of a top 5 pick. Looking at the last five drafts, I'd rather be 4th than 3rd or 1st worst.

(I have a nifty table, but the site won't let me upload the graphic... WTH?)

The reality is that we're not as crapty as many here would hope. Frankly, I'm OK with that. Raynaud (French for King) and Cardwell can hold down the 5 spot. Nique and Carter have some growing to do, but they are more than serviceable. Precious is a bonafide NBA rotational player. We need a difference maker in this draft for sure, and man would I love a top 3 pick (hey AJ. I see you), but this isn't a "trust the process" moment where we're fielding a G-League squad where DeRozan sits because of tendinitis in his toe.
Stepping back from the ledge:

1 - Carter or better
2 - Monk or better
3 - Murray or better (hi DeAndre)
4 - Sabonis
5 - Raynaud (stretch 5)/Cardwell (2026 Manimal)

It's not a bad team. It's not. Yes, we need to hit on our pick, and yes, I see that the FO is maybe hedging their bets, and realizing that maybe a wing won't be available. Sabonis will have to move to the 4, unless Raynaud pulls a Slim and lives outside the 3, which he may.
I haven't even talked about LaVine (who will probably be here), DeRozan (who I hope won't because he not like us and deserves better) And probably someone else. IDK. Kings are why I drink. (That's not true, but it certainly adds an extra shot.)
I'll save the rest for another time, but, TL;DR: Sorry we don't suck as much as you hope, we're not that far from being a good team based on current pieces. Why is that bad?

Go to hell! :p

The Warriors currently have about as much "chance" to get the first pick as Dallas did last season. You never know what they might be willing to do

This. Finishing with the worst record damn near guarantees you won't be picking 1st lol

The two hall of famers picked in this draft class will be x+1 and x-1 of the Kings pick.
I hate to say it but I totally see that.

I have no doubt that two players picked in the top 6 will probably become superstars, at least one from the A tier and one from the A- tier. I don't trust us to get them. I also don't trust myself right now on how to evaluate but we've seen flaws from the A tier this weekend. Won't be surprised if Acuff gets exposed on the defensive end next week even if he somehow puts up 40 in an upset.

Gonna be really frustrating if that's the case, but if we only come away with a Fox level player and still pick high next year I won't be mad as long as we don't blow both picks.

Clearly a systemic issue within the Kings org but its just so hard to stomach. Landing DP, Boozer, AJ or Wilson or Flemings would have been so huge. We are in the midst of an NBA era where 7 different teams have won championships in the past 7 seasons. We should be getting in on that not running stars out of town with our ineptitude. Dark days man…when will it end?

Malik Monk had 10 of his 32 points in the last five minutes of the game. Overall, he was 7-13 from beyond the arc and hit all nine free throws, including two with 13 seconds left, plus he dished out 6 assists, 4 of them for three-pointers in the last quarter.

Leadership.

Probably not a coincidence that the most unbearably bad stretch of the season came when Malik was out/buried on the bench behind 15 other guards and Lavine was healthy lol

This team in its current form isn’t as bad as the team you all watched at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately for everyone, when everyone is healthy again this team will be back to their normal ways. THAT TEAM cannot play together and that team is really bad. The players currently playing will be back to riding the pine.

That roster fits the FO goals… bad enough to miss the play-in good enough to not be a bottom four team typical bull crap
