50 wins

I know the season is pretty much done, playoff seedings are basically wrapped up, and nothing matters much at this point.

That having been said, I would really like to see us play well against Phoenix and get our 50th win of the season. It's just a number, but I think it would really be a testament to how well we've dealt with this problematic season, and would propel us into the playoffs on a high note. It's a home game, and I'm sure the Arco faithful would prefer to see us win our final regular season game as opposed to laying an egg against the division champ.

Just a thought I've been having for a while now, whether or not we would win 50 games this season. It comes down to one game, and I think we should take advantage of the opportunity.

50 is a good number, and I would like to see it again just to keep the streak going. Its kind of a line of demarcation -- not elite teams necessarily, but of solid perennial playoff teams. Win 50 every year, and you're in the dance every time.

And with Phoenix having wrapped things up now, maybe we can get it if they come in and aren't really bringing their "A" game. Would like to think our guys would like a little payback. I flat out think Phoenix is a better team than us at this point, but they are not so much better that they can come into Arco with less than 100% effort and be assured of victory. So we may have a pretty good chance.

Kings will likely win. I'm guessing the suns will play nash/amare and marion no more than 25-30 minutes

sad to see us win a handicap game to get 50, but a win is a win

suns might actually play to win because they need one more win to have the winningest season in their history........ i would love for the kings to be the team that stops them from that accomplishment

considering you are still missing 3 key players I wouldn't really consider it a handicap but as you say as long as it counts as a win it doesn't matter. And I know you guys will want to have at least a 1 game win streak heading into the key.

I wouldn't consider one win a streak. But I certainly wouldn't want to go into the playoffs on a losing streak.

"The Key." That's funny. Imagine Laker fans calling Staples Center "The Staple." That cracks me up.

We aren't what we once were. And the Suns are. No real shame in that. Hopefully its just a one year blip.

Obviously 50 is just a number, and if we get it its not going to suddenly make us an better of a team than we are today. But its just a nice symbolic number, even if we have to back into it. Very minor goal, but I'll take however we can get it and then jsut get to the payoffs and see what happens.

Adleman said one of his goals was to get 50 wins for the season. I thought the game vs Utah would be the one to get them there, but as we all know the Kings like to do things the hard way. Whether they do or not though, it's been one crazy season and they're lucky to even have gotten this far.

More then needing the win, King's need to play well .... to have lost 4 in-a-row going into the playoffs .... terrible

the tag of "win streak" shalt never be placed after the number "1". Go figure. I don't care wether we win or lose, so long as old Mr. Jinx doesn't show up yet again and doom another one of our players to an injury. :\

I also agree that it would be nice to get to 50 its a nice round number, and it would be nice considering how much the team has gone through this year PLUS that was my prediction :)

I would also agree that starters will be rested but at the same time...that Suns team is extremely cocky and they are most likely gonna want to get that 63rd win of the season to break the record of most wins in a regular season like Fillmoe mentioned...

I agree. I would rather lose this game than lose a player but 50 wins deff. sounds good especially with the way this season has gone.

I think they are more concerned with staying heathly for the playoffs than breaking a regular season record. They aren't dumb enough to think season record over playoffs

Lets face it the Pheonix game is likely to be a battle of the benches. The Suns would be nuts to play Nash, Stoudimaire and Marion many if any min in a menaingless game jsut before playoffs. Likewise I hope to god Adelman does NOT paly Bibby more than the few obligiatory min for a home game. Personaly the more Martin and Daniles the better.

I think right now avoiding any more owies should be more of a priority than winning 50 games although accomplishing both would be nice. 50 does have a nice ring to it.

I think the #1 priority is playing well heading into the playoffs. Not really that big of a benefit to having healthy players if they're playing like doo-doo.

I 10000% disagree.

IMO this game is worthless. Who cares about 50 wins and who wants to risk injury on a game that doesn't matter? This takes into consideration the history/jinx/badluck/curse whatever is our problems with injuries.

If Bibby, K9, CAT gets hurt just to get 50 wins is it then worth it? We can easily play 7-8 tomorrow, sit out our main starters and just call it a game. Win or lose it means nothing.

In fact I would be surprised if Nash or Amare played much if at all tomorrow.

When Peja popped his groin, we scored under 100 each game since then. when Peja was with us... we scored over 115 points in about 5 games STRAIGHT. Must mean something eh?

It's about more than 50 wins, sir.

First of all, going into the playoffs on a two-game losing streak is not good for the team in any way. Secondly, if we wind up playing Phoenix in the playoffs, I would like to think that the team would get some solace from the fact that they were able to beat them the last time they played each other. Thirdly, you don't want to drop your last regular season game at home. Have a little pride.

I see and understand both arguments...

Still think it would be nice to get to 50...but it will most likely be the battle of the benchs in this one...its really been the battle of the benchs all around the NBA tonight and I'm sure tomorow night as well....

Okay... So an injury to one of our starters turning his ankle is worth 50 wins? Sure someone might get injured in the playoffs but right now playoffs are a little more important then the number of wins we have. My thought would be if one of the starters got injured in the playoffs he is giving 110%. If one of our starters got injured during tomorrow’s game then what will everyone be crying about? Let me guess, I am just getting my opinion out before the fact.

Seeing our track record with injuries I feel it's not worth it. It is not going to matter how we enter the playoffs at this point. It’s the point we enter them healthy. We don't have 3 key players as it is for this last game, it doesn't matter if we win or lose we are still playing Seattle in the playoffs and we need to be healthy.

The playoffs are what they play 6 months of games for and to risk it on the last game when we are locked in makes no sense at all.

Pride? Who cares about pride? We need our starters for the playoffs. I could care less about pride right now. At this stage of the game I want to see the second round. Loose another key player and we are history. 50 wins won’t be worth it then…
