Those deals are fine (although I doubt Miami is going to give up all that for Bibby, and I doubt the Lakers are going to kick in a first for Miller), but I shudder about those draft picks.

Agreed. Nice deals, terrible draft picks. We could do much better with the 10th, 20th, and 23rd picks. I really like the idea of getting three first round picks though. Nice work there. I think I'd rather have Artest and Kenny Thomas then Francis, Frye, and the #23 pick though.

Francis? i looked around and saw that hes earning 15mil a year? wow... but does have one less year on his contract than kenny thomas. plus theres a chance francis retires? but i stay away from this guy unless im sure for a fact that hes done playing in a year. thats the only way i touch him. Frye is a solid project, and i hope that hes involved if we make any trade with NY.

I would love to see us draft all bigs if we get 2 or more picks this year. and trade for a guy like frye. all the good teams have bigs all over the place. minus PHX they got nash. But Det(when they won it all), Dallas, Spurs, if you wanna keep up in this league you gotta have different types of bigs on your team

The Lakers would want Brad Miller and his poison contract, versus Kwame's expiring deal? I think they'd keep Kwame, or package him in a deal that is more favorable. Miller's not much better than Kwame at this point, and his long-term deal is AWFUL. I think the Lakers may have learned after Brian Grant.

If GP got a mid to late 1st rounder in a deal, I wouldn't be surprised if he drafts Splitter if he still stays in the draft. Splitter is unlikely to come out of europe this year because his buyout is $1million but this could be seen a bit like Pedja pick.

Pick Splitter this year, let him play another year in europe and bring him over next year. So effectively you get 2 first rounders next year and look set from a rebuilding perspective. Playing another year in europe would allow Splitter to work on his game more so when he does come over, he is ready to contribute some minutes straight away.

I also read somewhere that Boston is looking to possibly trade down as they like Thornton. So would any of the sides do this deal:

Mike Bibby and Pick 10 to Boston
Theo Ratliff, Delonte West and Pick 5 to Sacramento.

Boston gets a starting PG that would give them some fire power and a trio of Pierce/AJ/Bibby would be a good team in the east and might even propel them into the play-offs. They are also high on Rondo and he would get minutes as Bibby's back up.

From our perspective, We trade up into that PF area of the draft, get an big expiring contract that can be a huge trading chip around the deadline or we just let it run its course and have almost $12million come off the books at the end of the year and we get a replacement PG that also happens to be a good defender and a good scorer.

That trade would be too good to be true for us. Boston's thinking bigger (Marion maybe?) and since they're so high on Rondo, why not just start him? Wish it could happen though, would have us well on our way toward a nice rebuild.

I would still do that trade even if West wasn't included.

I am pretty sure Splitter has to stay in the draft now. I am not 100% sure but I think he has used up the the amount of times to pull out of the draft.

I also like your deal with Boston. I talked about his on another website (RealGm), not sure if Boston would do it, but I think it would be a pretty good move for them. They cant just keep drafting young players and hope they have a better future. If we did get the 5th pick I could see us taking Horford or Wright if they are there.

Overall I like the deals. It would free up some cap space after next season, give us some more draft picks, and give us a bright future. The only part I dont agree on is two of your picks. While I think Hawes has the potential to be a good player I would look at other players to pick there. While it may be a reach I would like to take J.C. from G-Tech. While 10 may be a reach for him, I think he has the potential be a great pg in this league. From what I have read he has star written all over him. It may take a year or two for him to start showing this potential, but I think he would be a wise pick. If we made these moves we might be able to get him at 20, but I have a feeling another team ahead of us will take him. So while some people may not agree with me I would take him at 10.
