24 seconds violations

almost every game, the kings have 2 to 4 24 second violations.... it usually occurs where one player (usually tyreke or beno) dribbling the ball for 20 seconds and then passing the ball to some one else, who apparently doesn't realize the shot clock is about to expire.... this has been worse than any other year i can remember....

this is happening time and time again.... and it also happens out of time outs... this is unacceptable, especially since we lose by a few points all the time... coach needs to teach these guys to look at the clock!!!!

I agree, it has been frustrating, but I'd rather they wait, slow down, and take a good shot, than to just chuck something up when the shot clock is at 16 seconds (which we saw a lot of last year). I can deal with a few 24 second violations if it means that, the majority of the time, we're getting better opportunities. I think that, as this team gains experience, we'll see a lot fewer shot clock violations.

I believe many if not most have occurred in 4th quarter under 6-7 minutes to go. One of the things I notice is Kings are chronically slow bringing ball up to get into the offense down the stretch. Evans is worse than Beno on this. He simply walks it up instead of hustling into the half court to get into a set faster - critical in crunch time. Because opposing teams defense is much tougher in the 4th quarter every second counts of the 24 to get a good shot. Maybe Tyreke is still playing as if it's a longer second shot clock like in college. I'm not laying it all on him as another part of it is defenses swarm the kid early and late in the clock knowing he is ultimately most deadly King on the floor in late game situations. Once Kevin comes back very soon and a bit later Cisco, I bet late game offensive execution for the Kings improves.
