22 Back to Back Games!!!

the kings have 22 back to back games and none of them are home and home back to backs!!! the lakers have only 17 back to backs!!!

this does not seem fair... the kings are constantly getting the short end of the stick from the scheduling dept in the nba...

that means over half (44 games out of 82) will be on back to back schedule... i am not happy at all

Some of them we are at home on the tail end so I wouldn't worry about it.....why do we really care how many the Lakers have??

If I'm correct we only had 16 last year so we can't really ***** about it.

Wow that is a ton. Like 1/4 of our games will be playing the second half of a back to back, I don't like it. That really leaves little room for error in the other games.

And it only gets easier for the more "marketable" teams teams...

Mavs: 14 back to backs

SA: 14

Miami: 11 (It pays to be the champs!)

Det: 19 (They get screwed as well)

Phx: 14 (I guess they want to make sure Nash and Amare stay as healthy as possible)

Cle: 20 (Lebron's still young, so that shouldn't be a problem)

It is interesting to note that ever year the Kings seem to land the most back-to-backs. Even when they were an elite team, they still got 20 back-to-backs or so. That can't all be coincidence.

Excuses already???

Come on, play the schedule that is put in front of you and stop whining. Out of all of the sports, the NBA is BY FAR the most equal schedule. it is unfortunate that we have more back to backs than the Lakers and Suns, and whoever else, but the fact of the matter is that good teams play through.

I just hate this obsession with having to come up with reasons why we have been screwed and the season is lost. How far we go this season will be determined by

1) Does Artest stay sane
2) Do we play any interior defense whatsoever
3) Does Miller bounce back
4) Does Bibby return to All Star level play
5) Does Kevin Martin flourish as a starter
6) Do we have more of a bench than last year

ETC........

It doesn't matter whether we have 21 or 19 or 17 back to backs. What matters is how good of a team we have...

The weirdest part of the schedule is the home & home, back-to-back with Seattle. Not often you play the same team on consecutive nights.

by the way, I guess you don't watch baseball. Talk about unequal and unfair schedules because of interleague play.

Fact of the matter is, in the NBA, I think every Western Conference team will play a schedule that is 98% similar to the rest of the conference (that a team plays some conference opponents 3 instead of 4 times is the ONLY difference between schedules).

Whats worse if you look at the back to back games out of the 22, NONE I repeat NONE are home-home variety. Can you believe that!!!! We have 11 away-away, 5 home-away, and finally 6 that are away-home.

Who made this stupid schedule!!! I can't believe it.

The Kings (and no NBA team that I can think of off the top of my head) have EVER had home-home back to backs.

Actually, I take that back- I think it happened a few times in the lockout shortened 50 game season, but in normal 82 game season the NBA NEVER does home-home back to backs.

We'll be better defensively this season, have a better bench-scene. So, it shouldn't be as bad. No doubt tough, and there'll be iffy stretches, but on the other side, it's a nice challenge.

Can't just look at one side of the situation.

No one really does well on BTBs on the year anyways.

Eh... who cares? We aren't a serious title threat and even if we were this will just toughen us for the real season.

Wouldn't this also mean we likely get lengthier breaks between games outside of these back to backs? Go total up the 3 and 4 day breaks while you're at it. Although lots of two nights in a row and then a few nights off sucks in the watching games department I actually suspect it evens things out for the team especially since they can have more effective practices if they do in fact have lengthier breaks.

I disagree. The back-to-backs, especially late in the season, DO take a toll. How much will depend on how the *turnip* situation is, but it something to be considered.

how about the fact that the Kings will be on National TV 22 times this year. Double from last year. I also find it interesting that both times we play Detroit we are on National TV now that we have Ron.

So in 11 back-to-backs, Arco is one of the two games. Can't knock that, especially those when Arco is the 2nd game. Overall should give Kings an advantage. And if Mussleman continues his ways he'll have a 10-12 man rotation to help.

Just because he used a 10 man rotation, does not mean that the players are any good. We might have a minor trade or 2, but this is pretty much it for the offseason IMO. Petrie won't trade away our expiring contracts (at least not all of them) this season. Next season, the free agents will be a lot better than this years so he could be waiting for next summer or until the trade deadline to make a move.

I hate how from March 25th to the 30th we have a week off almost that late in the season is horrible it gets us out of our routine. We go from a game on a sunday to a game on a friday

the back to backs confuse me, because it almost seems like it should be possible to schedule the same number of back to backs for every team. i don't have a formula or anything, but it seems like it should be in the realm of possibility.

i don't like the fact that the kings have 22 back to backs though, mostly because we're not solid enough to weather them yet, imo.

tough brake for the guys. back to backs suck. i hope we can be more successful than last season during these back to backs. what exactly did we go last season on back to backs?
