[NFL] 2025-2026 Thread

Yeah - I dont despise the Rams, but do despise the Seahawks thanks to their fanbase; also don't like Hurtz and the Eagles......If the 49ers lose, pulling for the Bears. On the AFC, since no Chiefs, I dont care much except the Patsies - they haven't suffered enough, so go Chargers - the most enigmatic team - this week.
TBH, if the Bears have to play the 49ers or the Rams, those offenses are so good and the Bears defense has already shown they couldn’t stop SF, I don’t think they have a chance.

That's when all the good stuff happens!
Au contraire - you missed the 'going for it on 4th and 2 from the 9 or whatever' -> that was a chipshot and 'one' glaring difference in the score. Bears coaching did well yesterday taking a couple FGs that helped em squeak it out.....not that FGs are that exciting watch- they are pivotal though

Of course they would - Bears kept up wiht the 49ers, that was within a 1 score game.....Rams have a better defense than the 49ers, would be a bit more difficult imo, but the Bears offense has them moving

Just putting it out there BEFORE the game so it doesn’t sound like intense cope but I actually took the Niners at their word when they said this was a rebuilding year so I am just happy the team made the playoffs at all and that’s even before you factor in injuries.

Why doesn't Sac have NFL franchise or even MLB franchise but Jacksonville has the Jaguars? The reason N.E. Florida city built NFL ready stadium 68,000 compacity, actively solicitated relocation or new franchise to come to its dynamic city by 1995. City leaders had aggressive strategy starting 1989 to bring the NFL to Jacksonville. Exact opposite of no plan, short-sited, over regulated, incompetent leadership at all political levels in sad Sac. - meaning city mayor, city council, country board of supervisors and more. You get the govt you deserve old saying and such realty may never change in Sac unless mostly useless gang of politicians removed at the ballot box. Not a political statement, just never ending reality here.

Todays population comparison:

Jacksonville, FL metro approx. 1.8 million / 41st ranked media market in U.S.

Sacramento CA metro approx. 2.6 million / 20th ranked media market in U.S.
Also, Sacramento is largely a government town without "whales" to support a lot of sports franchises. It takes high-end $$$, which we generally don't have unless we import someone like Vivek (and even then I think he was on the lower-income end for NBA ownership, IIRC).

With their reg season schedule being the hostess twinkie of the league - I expected them to make the playoffs....the Purdy injury with Jones makes them deserved of praise (and possibly coach of the year for Shanahan)...and they've overachieved I think, done better than I expected. For the 49ers today they need to get Purdy moving around - he plays better when he's moving. I dont think it'll matter though - I"m expecting a Seahawks type game with more scoring.....Green's gonna get absolutely abused too, my hunch.....
