I agree that Simmons is not a realistic target unless we include Fox or Haliburton. He's a 25 year old 3-time All-Star with 4 more years on his contract. He's only being talked about as available because of special circumstances and Morey seems to be upping his asking cost as the relationship gets more strained which is... interesting. I do think he gets traded eventually but someone else will beat our best offer. Probably Portland or Golden State.

I really don't know what Siakam's value is right now though. He's in that weird category of players who are obviously overpaid because they're not quite franchise players but they were too good to let leave in free agency. It really just comes down to what the Toronto front office's plan is. If they still consider Siakam as part of their core there's no reason to trade him unless they get a huge offer. If they're looking to go in a different direction and get younger, acquire picks, clear out cap space, etc. they can certainly ask for Haliburton or any other emerging star on a rookie contract but they don't have leverage so they'll ultimately have to settle for less than that or figure out a way to keep all of their forwards happy with their roles.

I think that is one of the big reasons why you don't give up Haliburton or Fox. Simmons will eat up a heck of a lot of your cap and is not the scorer either of these two can be. You'll still have to field a team. And, while defense is important, you still have to put points on the board. I wouldn't give up either in a package for Simmons, especially Fox. But Haliburton is right behind him, especially with his contract value.

Len is probably more needed than Thompson though. Big body, pnr threat who can protect the rim. He'd be a good vet for Queta to learn from since that's probably his future as a player.

I think even with Vlade gone this is another example of stack the decks at a position then see who is left standing. And whoever isn't will be grumpy and wasting cap.

I'd rather have TT as a back-up over Len in a vacuum. He's just better and I think gives you a bigger minutes ceiling than Len can if Holmes goes down with an injury.

I 100% would not have traded a really good player like Delon Wright for a slight back-up C upgrade though. So I guess we continue to wait to see how this roster gets finalized.

Len was pretty valuable in the bubble. I think they could use the size myself. A team of 6'4" and under guards and a pair of 6'9" non paint plugging centers is interesting though. haha.

Leave it to Sactowndog. On zero, literally zero, intel, he is now suggesting the worst- that we backed out of a deal with a free agent and f’ed him over. It started with a question about whether Len had signed yet, and this guy’s (par for the course) move was to suggest mismanagement or bad faith by Monte. I’d block you, but your tin foil conspiracies and blind disdain for Monte are too funny.

How much does Hart want? That's probably the issue. Also he's not at all someone to write home about. And his rebounding numbers were likely slightly inflated considering the team he was on. The Pels are clearly trying to invoke some sort of sign and trade but anyone trading a Buddy Hield for a Josh Hart if it means paying him anything close to what Buddy is getting would be ridiculous.

Diallo should be a nice why not move depending on the price though. And with his physical abilities it could prove to be worth it.
