Lol imagine being completely out of bed with your current team, thrown under the bus by everyone, then despite this being pretty common knowledge your GM is asking for one of the biggest returns ever AND ALSO deciding you don’t want to play in certain markets.

Everyone involved can kick rocks. I hope he’s forced back to Philly.

[NBCSports] Ben Simmons reportedly wants to avoid playing for Trail Blazers or Raptors due to “being the young socialite that he is”

In a radio segment with 95.7 The Game in Philadelphia, Jason Dumas of Bleacher Report said the relationship between the Sixers and Simmons is "beyond repair" but the Klutch client does not want to go to Portland.

"He doesn't want to go to a bad situation," said Dumas. "He's reading the tea leaves. He sees Toronto, he sees Portland and then, being frank being the young socialite that he is, he's not looking to go to any of those situations. He's looking to go to the California teams."

I guess I'm officially off of this Ben Simmons bandwagon, I'm gonna be frank, I don't recruit young socialites. :p
Also, Toronto is literally bigger and arguably brighter than Philly lol...

This has been Ben Simmons from day 1. It's part of his baggage along with being a non-shooter that's tough to build around.

He sure has his priorities in order. HARD PASS. Let’s get Pascal

My google alerts said Warriors and Sixers are talking.

Socialite what a turd.
What a effing turd.

I actually hope Philly gets stuck with him. Let's go for Tobias if we can't get Siakam.

I wonder what that would look like? Draymond, Kuminga, Moody and a first for Simmons/Maxey?

Yeah you are probably right. It is probably why he still has yet to actually developed a jumper to begin with.

It's hard to say. James Harden always seems to be hitting strip clubs, parties etc but has produced on the court and was possibly a CP3 injury from making the finals and possibly a championship.

But yeah, there's obvious questions to ask of a player who hasn't developed any kind of jump shot whose own agent label calls him a socialite - Does he love basketball? Is he fully committed to improving? Is he a real competitor? Or is being an NBA player more of a means to an end for him?

Let him go ruin the chemistry and pull this sh1t w/ some other franchise.

Dude has BEEN a laughing stock since the playoffs.

He is lazy and overrated.

And we’ve been the laughingstock of the entire league for nearly 2 decades. Match made in heaven. Take the shot (but not at Morey’s idiotic price)

I would bet a healthy amount of money Kings fans would not despise the All-Star All-NBA defender. Come on now.

He's signed long term so Simmons only has so much leverage in terms of where he's dealt. He could force a trade before his final season but otherwise he'll have to either give up his NBA career or suck it up and play for whatever team trades for him.

It'd be a big gamble to trade him for Fox (who I love and who wants to be in Sacramento) but I don't know that Philly will accept a trade based around Buddy and Bagley unless the Kings are also giving up 3 FRPs and pick swaps in the years in between.

But let's see if the Sixers end up getting desperate.

Ehhh we absolutely would after the honeymoon is over. He’s literally a liability on the other end and it almost negates his defense for me.

if Webber and Peja can fall out of favor here, anything is possible. Ben Simmons scoring 2 points in the 2nd half of every crucial game would be enough for me to fume over.

At least we’d potentially be in the position to have big crucial games.

Maybe. I disagree if it involves giving up Fox, though.

Ya, that’s a pass.

I’m certainly only trying to buy low on Simmons. He’s better than this playoff stanker has painted him. Very flawed still. But not near worthless. It’s just a matter of how badly have Philly burned the bridge. I’m certainly not paying their current t price.

I was only buying this if we A: do not have to give up Fox and B: he realizes that he f'd up now that he's with the Kings and tries to turn it around ala C-Webb.

I'd probably still take a flyer if we could get him without losing Fox or Haliburton.

There's no question if you can acquire Ben freaking Simmons without giving Fox/Hali, you do it. Sacramento just doesn't have the ability to acquire his level of talent, especially signed long-term. There's obvious warts, but that's a risk you have to take if you want to get out of the gutter with this franchise.

Yeah Golden State saw his rookies and are probably trading all 3 plus some firsts

Dude is burning bridges every which way on the heels of an absolutely epic choke. Beyond stupid.
