Love it! Holmes is the exact type of energy player that plays for the love of the game that every team should want. And he has a lot of talent!

Anybody claiming this is an overpay is talking out of their you-know-what.

Holmes loves it here in SAC and signing a deal like this one shows it. So happy to have him back.

Say what you want about the ineptitude of this franchise the past 15 years --- they largely have a roster of dudes that are fun to root for and watch. Holmes play his @$$ off and doesn't take plays off. Hali, Swipa, Barnes, Buddy and now Mitchell all are gym rats that love to play the game.

We also have some up and comers like Metu and Woodard, and even Justin James started to show a spark late last season.

I want this team to win BADLY. But I also want to watch a team where I like the players in uniform. There's nobody I really dislike on this team. Buddy and Bagley frustrate me at times, but I don't dislike them. If somehow either or both can figure into the mix and perform, I'll be through the roof. If they get traded, it better be for something good.

But circling back to Richaun, this is a great day! And we get to see much more of his parents gloating when we win. Imagine how fun that will be if we get to and start winning in the postseason???? Can't wait!

What about the following trade:

Toronto sends: OG Anunoby
Toronto gets: Buddy Hield and draft comp

Sacramento sends: Buddy Hield and 2 seconds
Sacramento gets: Laurie Markannan (S&T)

Chicago sends: Laurie Markannan (S&T) 2023 first lottery protected (turns into two seconds)
Chicago gets: OG Anunoby

why for Chicago: gets a piece for their win now push in the way of a 3&D small forward

why for Toronto: clears room for Barnes and surrounds him with elite shooting.

why for Sac: clears room in the back court and gets Laurie to pair with Holmes.

If the Kings were to do this trade, it would be OG that Monte would target, not Lauri

I really don't understand why we'd send an "overpaid" guard who won't defend for matching money on an underperforming soft no-defense big who can shoot well for a big. And two of those second rounders @sactowndog always says he covets.

Like when you call Monte out for suck you gotta propose better than an overpay and burning assets on a player the Bulls are throwing away.

Sign & trade using Hield, Bagley, and/or Mitchell to land John Collins (Hield likely would need to be routed to a 3rd team)? Then spend our MLE on Oubre? Then resign Davis to an affordable contract?

PG - Fox / Wright
SG - Haliburton / Davis / James / Ramsey
SF - Barnes / Oubre / Harkless
PF - Collins / Metu / Woodard
C - Holmes / Len / Queta / Jones

Considering what NO got in a sign and trade for Ball I don't think Collins will pull that kind of haul. I would be interested in him though at the right price.

these insane contract signings had made Buddy’s contract look spectacular. Either Monte lucked out or he just didn’t do his job well. Regardless, we got the leverage now

Yeah, the going rate for shooters is at an all time high. Vlade got in before the trend with those contracts.

Oubre defines a low IQ player. Vlade is no longer the GM.
It was a crack about players not signing with us over the Warriors, Oubre was the "next" target given the dubs are a team he's already associated with, not a serious suggestion. I think Monte is looking to fill this spot via trade or a value signing after the market cools.

The Warriors system relies on a little upstairs though. With the Kings it would be more like what he was in with the Wiz. Just run, D up, and be prepared to catch and shoot. I think his lack of decision making wouldn't nearly be a problem.

The Warriors with Steph couldn’t win with Oubre.

Oubre may be best available wing BUT, I am not sure he is the right fit for this team. It will be interesting to see what trades get done to balance out the roster.

I have to say that I quite like what we the Kings did today. Brought Holmes and Harkless back on reasonable deals and added Alex Len on the cheap who if we are honest would probably be an upgrade on Whiteside.

Backcourt needs some re-balancing to the wings and the big men department is now stacked albeit mostly with projects.

A player I would like the Kings to sign on a cheap "prove me" deal is Justice Winslow.

He's a high BBIQ - defensive type player that Monte likes. He probably could be had for a modest $3-5 mil/year contract, especially with FA money drying up so quickly. Winslow has been very injury prone, but I think he is a low risk/high reward type acquisition that the Kings should take a flyer on.
