Hmmm Oubre probably costs more. Porter is an injury risk. Any decent budget SF out there?

Josh hart? Former Walton guy at least. Restricted but I have no idea what the Pelicans plan is. Maybe with some of the Pelicans cap space they can sign Hart and trade him for Buddy’s larger deal.

I just can’t imagine that we go into the season with Holmes, TT, Len and a 3 year college player at center plus Jones. I think Queta is ready for back up minutes right away so I am a bit bummed he will get the end of the bench treatment even though I really liked Lens stint with us. Maybe he will tear it up in Stockton and force some playing time.

Jones and Metu are unguaranteed.
Queta (plus glut of bigs) prob is end of Jones. Metu is playing great and can stretch the floor (more of a 4/5).

Step 3: Use a chunk of the MLE on a Jared Vanderbilt (or all honestly, he's worth it) and really kick this defense into overdrive. Super athletic, switchable big man defenders that can defend the perimeter, protect the rim, have a real knack for rebounding the ball, play the 4 and 5, is good friends with the franchise player and is 22 years old should not be available in FA. With the Wolves cap problems and having the cheap version of a similar player (McDaniels), who they seemed to favor at the end of last year, I doubt they match the offer.

Walking out of this off-season with Mitchell, Harkless, Len, Holmes, Vanderbilt Neemias would be real dedication to trying to fix a historically bad defense. I'm fine leaving with another wing too, but Vanderbilt is the upside talent grab we should be taking the risk on.

I would think the rookie is bound for Stockton to get his work in. Jones was pretty good in small stretches last year.

Would love a sign and trade for Laurie to pair with Holmes but it would need to be a 3 team trade with Buddy going out

I can, lol.

do we have word that the Wolves don’t want him? Do they not have their MLE? I was under the impression some of their fans saw him as the perfect pairing with Kat.

Well I was thinking about Bagley out for him and draft incentive to Chicago. But Lauri would have to be real close to Bagley's salary to do this without other moves first right?

Holmes, Len, Metu, Queta... what's wrong with that? And hopefully Queta does get some quick backup minutes, but a little seasoning is okay too.

Last year it was Holmes, Whiteside, Metu, w/Jones coming in late.

My impression of Len is skewed by his 15-game stint w/the Kings at the end of the 2019-20 season, which might have been the best stretch of his career. But I consider him an upgrade on Whiteside, and expect an improved version of Metu.

Right now, I see an improved backcourt vs. last year, improvement at the 5, and a big ? at the wing opposite HB.
