2009 SF Giants Thread

GO DODGERS!

sorry had to do it.. Dodger fan here muah! I am jealous of your pitching staff though. Lincecum/Cain > Billingsley/Kershaw...
Ya had to do it... ;)

BTW, Come October, SF > LA. :p

Great couple wins by the guys past 2 days. Both Sanchez's, Panda, ELI!!!, Garko and of course Mr. Joe Martinez all leading us to wins. Too bad I missed them both :(

But as SLAB stated, here's to some road momentum. But now we come home and dominate here again. :D

Alex Rios was claimed off of waivers by an unknown team. Do you hope it's the Giants? New York Post is reporting that it's NOT the Mets. Sooo, I'd love to get this guy on our team. OF help, a great bat...

Only problem would be his gargantuan contract. But remember this was the guy that the Giants almost gave up Timmy for early last year.

What do you guys think?

Edgar Rentaria is a trainwreck of a player. Terrible Terrible signing.

And today's win was HUGE HUGE HUGE in helping us forget about the 5 error aberration.
Last night could have easily been a KO shot to the gut.

Velez is ridiculous... he went from being a guy I couldn't stand last year to one of my favorite players. Keep it up kid!!
Where in the world did this player come from??? He looked like a lost cause earlier this season!

He is hitting Bonds-esq shots!

Confidence can do wonders. And right now he is supremely confident. I've always liked him, but never looked at him as more than a late-innings utility man. UNTIL NOW. :D

Hes not only turning on the ball like a beast, he's playing good defense as well. This team is progressing faster than I could ever expect.

Go Giants!!

Oh and I better see a ton of astrik signs this week against the dodgers. It's pay back time for all the **** Barry recieved. Man does it feel good to be the team doing it the right way when you have LA, Boston and NY with their best players all tainted with steriods. Oh how the tables have turned. It's a great day to be a Giants fan.

Just to wrap this up, it was the frickin' White Sox. (I'm an Angels fan who also roots for the Tigers, so this is bad news.)

This is one of the biggest piece of **** series I have ever seen!!!

The bias has been so god damn obvious, I'm surprised these *** clowns are not wearing dodger hats.

What a ****ing joke!

Lincecum got cheated out of a win today.

"HIGH DRIVE, LEFT FIELD, OUTTA HERE!!"

After that terrible error by Uribe, I had a feeling he was going to crank one out.

Selig needs to fire those piece of **** refs asap!

I haven't gotten to see one minute of any games this series, but man what a game today!!! This is Giants-Dodgers folks.

Honestly? I hope this is a NLCS preview. There would be NOTHING better.

That whole homestand was S***...

Those dodger games were disgusting...There were bad calls all over the place. I managed to catch the ninth inning/postgame show today, and of course...The umps SCREW Cy out of yet another compete game win...And what was with the calls all over the place in the two close games>!>?!

Between Gary Darling and Bill 'The Mustache' Hann, this crew needs to be reassigned to single-A for some more seasoning

Still, it was great to see the Giants actually win the game where the dugouts emptied to save face and not get the full KO shot.

I honestly don't think the Giants are gonna make the playoffs this season. Not that they're out of it, because an injury to the Rockies, or even the Dodgers, and the whole landscape changes. But judging from the way the teams in contention look right now, I'd bet against the Giants.

I think we all know that this team is not really ready to make the playoffs this season. However, I still think we have a chance. Colorado is too hot now. I think they will have problems in September.

We have to improve offensively and get one more SP. You cannot rely only on Tim and Matt, and occasional offensive sparks.

The Giants are good! They can even make the playoffs but they are not playoff good overall.

The Giants continue to tease with a 10 run outburst... This team is so damn capable of scoring SOME runs that these ridiculous offensive blackouts are beyond infuriating! This team is 10 games above .500, but how good would this team be with someone to compliment The Panda?! MAN, I wish we signed Carlos Lee some years back!

And in more good news, http://blogs.mercurynews.com/extrabaggs/2009/08/17/wheeler-receives-2010-deal-for-33-million/, the Giants signed Zak Wheeler the #6 pick in the draft.

Hopefully he makes us forget about that Tim Alderson guy next year.
:p

I'm still convinced that if we spent the money in O3 to go get Vlad, we would've won the series that year, and probably would've won at least the West in 04. A pairing of Bonds/Vlad would've been unstoppable.

As far as Wheeler, I believe he was one of the reasons why they felt so confident going after Sanchez and dealing Alderson. Also, after being able to watch Freddy now for a few weeks, I'm convinced that in 10 years or so, we wlll look back and say that he was a really great Giant.

I've been a pretty harsh critic of Zito but the guy has been pretty damn good as of late. I just wish the Giants could pick him up on some of these games and get him some W's. Oh well, a wins a win and we kept pace with the Rockies. Big series with them looming. Go Giants!!
