Another positive sight is the good number of big men 2010 draft. If we play the waiting game and don't do any trades for big this season, we can complete our big man rotation who are young and cheap.
And with roughly 18M off the payroll, we might be able to some all-star/borderline all-star to this team. And that's the smell of PLAYOFFS!
Barring any trade, here's my projected core for next season:
PG - Evans/Rodriguez or Udrih (whoever remains)
SG - Martin/Garcia
SF - Noc/Greene/Casspi
PF - Thompson/draft or FA
C - Hawes/draft or FA
With Martin and Garcia back on the lineup, we can beast on any backcourt with Evans eating most the PGs in the league.
I've mentioned before that that is 4/5 of the lineup of the worst team, and worst defensive team, in the league last year.
Do agree most of the core is here in town though. 1-2 trades, 1 FA, 1 draft pick (if not burned in the trades) should do it. THEN we can settle in.
It's grape drink baby.they dont sell that flavor in my neighborhood... what does it taste like?![]()

I'd like to point out that two years ago that's pretty much what most Portland fans were thinking. A lot can go wrong in two years, and to quote Dylan Moran again "[potential is] like your bank balance, there's always less in there then you thought."
That said, the Kings are definitely a team to watch.
You seem to be equating my comments with saying the Kings have made no progress or improvement. I have come out and said that individuals, as well as the team, has improved. But some fans take it too far. Some have said the rebuilding is over. Some don't think this is a lottery team. Some fans think this team is ONE player away from contending. That's ridiculous IMO. There's a difference between optimism, and drinking the cool aide. This team IS improving and getting better, but I'm not going overboard.
Yeah...but I attribute most of that to Greg Oden blowing up in their face.
As I said, a lot of things can happen.
Besides, did they really look that great when he was alive and playing well? Because to me it seemed like the second round was the most they could hope for.
