luther head waived

I wonder if we've got our eyes on a 10-day contract for somebody. Otherwise, why dump him when it doesn't even save us any money? With Evans still out, it leaves us with 11 players and just Beno and Jeter at the point. Of course, even then it would have made more sense to request waivers on Daniels - he's not only injured for the season but I haven't even heard of him reporting. Not to defend Head, but at least he's a body that can play - what's the advantage of cutting him?

I guess if we don't sign anyone in the next week, we can assume it had to be a locker room thing.

I honestly think it had to do with the fact that he is not much of a basketball player and everyone except Westphal knew it... and in order to eliminate Westphal playing Head.. Petrie got rid of him. I for one applaud this move. For a guy who is supposed to be a shooter.. well lets just say he is pretty bad at his best trait..

Boring sermon or slow day at the office or fish aren't biting or tired of watching the rain fall. All completely natural.

Not that he was expected to stay through next season anyway but why wait so long to waive him? At this point I'd keep him through the last what 18 games? It almost seems like a slap in the face to waive someone this late in the season with a record as dismal as ours.

It was reported that Head was very unhappy and had let it be known. Turns out he was thrown out of practice. It didn't say how many times. Of course you hear about that if its Cousins.

It's like basketball with feet feet. and a wider net.

Is this the sport where basketball players go to practice flopping? It is amusing at times to see a player carried off the field on a stretcher, and five minutes later, see him run back on the field..

I don't think that's very accurate, because in soccer once you leave (even if you're just subbed out) you can't go back in, if I'm not wrong. Also, only 3 subs. are allowed for the whole game.

It happens all the time. They just don't sub the guy and play a man down while they "attend to him and put magic spray on his injury". (Read that: "He catches his breath or gets over the embarrassment of not actually being hurt or whatever.")

If you've never seen a player writhing in false agony get carried off the field in a stretcher, only to return two minutes later as good as new, you've never watched soccer.

Lot of love for "Soccer" flying around! lol

oh and the player we were talking about is out for 6 months requiring surgery.

not all players are cry babies!

I think I wrote in a thread when he was signed that the kings would regret it. I'm sure he's a nice guy but he absolutely choked during the playoffs for the rockets. He's only good at one thing (3 point shooting) and he failed miserably during the playoffs and you got to see all his other faults in person.

I still cant believe this guy was a critical role player when the Rockets actually had McGrady and Yao healthy.

I kind of think "regret" is a strong word for a minimum-salary guy who played from the back of the bench except when there were injuries. We risked basically nothing, we expected basically nothing, we got basically nothing. I regret nothing!!!

Regrets
we've had a few
But Luther Head
we will not mention
We suck
On our own right
But Luther brings
A new dimension
We've seen
Some bad displays
From other guys
Along the byway
But Head
He chucks the ball
Out to the hiiiiiiigh-way
