Jerry reynolds just said exactly what I was thinking. That dick motta team that only won 1 road game………he saw more effort out of that team than this team. He said this is the worst he’s seen here in Sacramento and we all know, Jerry saw some of the worst this franchise has offered up.
Wasn't that the team that had an above .500 home record to match.? Or dismatch.....that at least made some sense.

Hate to say it, but Sabonis’ trade value is as about as low as it’s ever been. We have to be real with ourselves, running DHO action is not a premium skill. And it’s definitely not useful action when the defense just drops or hedges since Sabonis is no threat to shoot and now no threat to drive as he can’t elevate. He’s a high motor guy which we love in this city. But he was always a high floor type of guy that you hoped could develop into a multi dimensional scorer like we see with Sengun
I've watched Sengun, and he doesn't impress whatsoever - looked like a 2-bit clown vs Warriors last playoffs.

I do recall a lot of people on here ripping Mike Brown when he was digging into his players publicly. Seems to be ok now with a subpar coach ripping the team.

So far….
Scott Perry may or may not be terrible, depends on if he can deal and remake this team. First year underwhelming so far
Doug Christie is not very good. Coaching NBA players is hard, not sure he’s up to it.

Those guys that want to compete every night are sitting on the bench (not playing much), Keon, Nique, DC, Maxime and Westbrook. Now put your money where your mouth is Doug.

At the very least, Schroeder needs to be benched and DDR should be a 6th man type. Start Keon at SG and Nique or Westbrook at PG
That take is rather unfair when you look at who played the most minutes in this game, namely Ellis and Clifford. Carter had an extended run. And you know that Sabonis is trying, but how can you really compete when you can barely jump off the floor? Aside from that, the coaches need to tell him to stop driving into three opponents and instead look to pass the ball out to a man open on the three-point line.

We'll see next game. I'd have a lot more faith in Doug if he actually implements what he said in this post game "We are going to find guys who compete". Even if its just for the one game, it'd show his words can actually be put into action.

a red flag for a player is getting rightfully criticized for his play or lack of effort and then immediately blaming the coach for it

A lot of guys on this roster that I think are talented but not who I would prefer to be on this team. I mean, the cracks showed last year.

But to be fair, it’s not like the organization has been rock solid, quite the contrary.

makes me question how leadership acts behind the scenes and towards and around players because that determines how rock solid a culture is

Behind the scenes is what we never see. There was a few posters on here who were ripping Mike Brown for being a coach who would beat down players psychologically which I never agreed with…..and then just recently I saw Matt Barnes in a short clip from a podcast I think it was, saying Mike won’t succeed in NY because he’s to nice of a guy.
We don’t really know.

Deuce made a good point. The reason the beam team year was so good was we had a bunch of unselfish players that moved the ball.

Guys that didn’t care about “getting theirs” and just played basketball the right way (on offense) and at least put in effort on defense despite their shortcomings.

We are now a team filled with iso ball players that think it’s not their job to play defense and seem more concerned about their box score stats than playing winning basketball.

Why did we move away from that style of ball?

49ers fans have ravaged Jed York at games with plane flyovers and chanting throughout games. Of course A’s fans have made their disdain known for Fischer at games and through boycotts. Vivek sits courtside and there’s nothing from the fans. No vivek sucks or even bags on the heads of fans. That would be awesome to be sitting across the court from Vivek with brown paper bags on our heads. A silent protest that this franchise is a joke.

The net rating of Ellis + Monk is +21 this season in 84 minutes. Last season, it was +2.5. But he also played well with DeRozan (+4.6), Sabonis (+3.1), Murray (+2.9), and Fox (+2.8). Monk played especially well with Carter (+19.1) in 105 minutes.
They fit well together at the 1-2. Not with another guard who takes them out of rhythm

Damn, no love for Miss Bianca? Then y'all really wouldn't have been feeling who I was planning to leave Jerry and Mickey out in favor of...

I don't very well remember watching The Rescuers. I think the five-year gap between that and The Secret Of NIMH came at just the right time to steer the bulk of my attention to the latter.

Not Kings ownership but Perry. He knew this year would be crap and didn’t want to saddle his preferred coach with this stink. Doug was Vivek’s preferred guy.

Quite frankly, this situation is the best I have felt about a Kings GM in a decade. The problem with this team was Vivek interfering.

Few here really believe how bad the Monte era was. I say Monte era because a big part of the problem was Monte couldn’t handle Vivek. Perry by contrast gave Vivek all the rope he needed to hang himself. Even an idiot like Vivek knows this pile of crap lies at his feet.

Perry leaned into Vivek and made it an evaluation year. He full well knew this roster was maybe the worst in all sports. Hopefully now Perry will have free rein to do what needs to be done without Vivek ****ing it up.

I’m the most hopeful I have been in a long time.
Man, I have League Pass through the end of December and have already stopped watching games. Calling this the best situation in a decade is nuts. Sure it could lead to a come up in a few years time but we haven't even hit rock bottom yet and I can't bear to watch my team.

Would have got my vote had I not gone for Stuart Little for reasons largely outside of the actual film (which I've never actually seen beyond the stuff I trained with).

Only Sactowndog would be hopeful during one od the worst periods of Kings basketball lol

Because Domas flopped in the playoffs while Fox took advantage of his moment in the spotlight. They handed the team over the following season and it became a slog and Brown was cooked within 14 months.

Yeah, in hindsight, Sabonis not being able to raise his level of play in the postseason might have been the worst thing to happen to this iteration of the Kings.

SacTownDog worships at the altar of the lord of the perpetual rebuild. Dude probably feels like Christmas came early now that the local team finally looks like they’re going down this road.
