Post game interviews all pointing to a badly assembled team. We know it and they know it.
He is paid too much for that.I feel the same about Domas.. Not for any other reason than I think he needs to be somewhere around your 3rd best player, with specific archetypes around him and I'm not confident we'll be able to do that quickly or at all
My only hope is no respected GM would assemble this team without an ulterior motive. The Dennis signing gives me pause but I continue to think Perry is doing a rope a dope with this team. Vivek is the dope.Post game interviews all pointing to a badly assembled team. We know it and they know it.
Too much for what?He is paid too much for that.
To be a 3rd option.Too much for what?
Showcasing them only hurts chances anyone wants them.

Doug is the useful idiot.
So there's a "logjam" at the position, but as one of the worst defensive teams in basketball, why is there no effort to make sure the best defensive player on the team gets on the floor? He then laments how the guys forget what they're doing out there and lose focus. So why are they getting this incredibly long leash if they continue to screw up on defense?
He had a chance after training camp to back up his defense mantra. At this point it’s just total bullcrap to imply players will be held accountable for lack of defensive intensity. He’s got to know that. At the very least he could be scaling back his “star” players’ time to no more than 30 min a game.

If you could guarantee a top two pick I would gladly hate-watch this team all year.If we get a top two pick it will all be worth it.
To be a 3rd option.
Creates such a toxic work environment as well, like a boss who preaches things have be done a certain way, holds half the team accountable and then promotes the couple guys he goes to Friday lunch with...

Oh, and by no means am I a Westbrook fanboy, but is it not weird that our best player for the past week+ gets 15 min this game? Why is it a given that schroder is the starter? He’s a journeyman point guard who does everything worse than Russ. Not that I really care, but it’s a little nuts to me that Russ goes to an afterthought this game.

I’m starting to think the team is purposely not playing Keon to keep his value down in free agency. Divincenzos camp accused the Kings of doing the same to him a few years ago
I fully expect, one way or another, Keon will not be on the team next year. They either do not value him, they trade him, they pee him off, or Keon just makes a wise life decision and gets out while he still can.DiVincenzo was different because that involved a qualifying offer, and truthfully I think his agent was just an idiot. Kings really wanted him but he was coming off an injury. This was before the new CBA and nobody was signing their QOs. He screwed over his client by burning bridges.
I don't know what's up with Keon. I am still hoping we're just playing the guys who we hope to move in front of him but there's always a chance that moving Keon might be the cost of doing business to get off a big contract.
I mean, maybe but Keon isn't really going to be a player that lights up the statsheet anyway. He's started, he's a 3 and D role player. Cats out of the bag on that one. If a team wants him they'll do what they have to or as much as they can. He's probably somewhere around a MLE type player to a team that values him, playing him 30+ minutes probably doesn't change that much. The issue is moreso the two timelines and the one that should be left standing when the dust settles is getting pushed down. The smart play is simple. Get the vets out if you can, give Keegan a chance to star when he gets back so you can finally see what he is, and develop these young guys.

How does Schröder have any appeal? If they can trade Dennis and Deebo at the deadline (the two guys whose contract and value have the most appeal) that frees up close to 70 minutes of playing time for the younger guys. (Assuming guards that need to play aren’t coming back). To me, that’s the path.
How does Schröder have any appeal?
Honestly think we way overpaid with this CBA and will be stuck with him.He is a good defender and a good facilitator that has had playoff experience and he is on a 13 mil dollar deal. There are several teams that need vet point guard help. He can start or come off the bench.

I thought his third year was not that cheap.Any team trading for him would have him for 14 mil next year and then a 4 million dollar buy out the following season. That doesn’t seem like a boat anchor to me but we shall see
