A hamstring injury is not likely to get worse? You sure about that

As usual, it's our franchise being short-sighted. Instead of making sure he's good to go, letting him come back early at 60-70% probably isn't helping at this point. He's ineffective and likely at a bigger risk of reinjury.

And of course he wants to play, all the players do. But if you ask Indiana, do you think they wish they held Haliburton out? Its the responsibility of the org to balance the short AND longterm success of the team

I know it's against eye test and early but Kings is ranked 10th on defensive rating and only 25th on offensive rating.

Right now, we are 2nd in 3pt% allowed, which is heavily impacting this rating. Which i think it's better than it's been in seasons past, but also still looks like we are giving up a ton of open looks that teams are bricking. Just not sure how sticky us being the 2nd best 3pt defense ends up being

There was no holding Hali out of the finals that’s for sure different than the first week of the season though

Sabonis is likely the one that pushed to come back and insisted that he could play. I’m not saying the Kings aren’t accountable for this but if he was cleared to play, just give him some time guys. Jesus Christ we aren’t even 5 games in
Patience is not a virtue on this, or many fan boards, just a lot more ironic for the Kings...

Sure, the hamstring could get worse. It could get torn to ribbons, Sabonis's career could be in jeopardy and a multi-million dollar Kings' asset could be negated to zero foreclosing any possibility of a trade and potential rebuilding and the Kings' medical staff could be sued for malpractice and banished from the league.

All we really can know at this point is that his performance has been substandard. The reasons behind the substandard performance are obviously speculative in nature. It reminds me of the Fox speculations about his extended period of under-performance and the possibility of it being injury related. We never did find out what the deal was.

Beyond the hamstring the body is a complete system and other muscles and joints compensate for a weakened one creating the risk not only of furthering damage to the initial injury but creating entirely new ones from overloading other areas of the body. Just rest the guy. gap year.

Hmm... the way Sabonis is playing now, we would have to attach a pick to get them to take on that huge contract. Even at his best, it is a tough contract to move.
It's wild to me how much changes from season to season in terms of market value. This year's lucky haul can be an anchoring overpay a couple of seasons later, and vise versa.

...but if you overlook that, what's the harm?? 😄

If only the team was as good as the members on this forum. Been an active reader and part time poster since 2020-2021, but I'm checked out for the rest of they year. Can't really say I checked in for this year, but haven't made this post yet. We all deserve much better than this - I'll still be score checking, but I'll be rooting for as many L's as possible and us shipping off vets at the deadline. My only goal for the year is to somehow find a way to resign Keon and pray on the lottery gods. I commend all of you for your activity and passion in following this team, but after 12ish long years of following this team closely just for it to peak and fizzle out in less than 2 years, I don't have much left. Finding myself becoming much more of an NHL fans these days, which easily replaces the NBA bug. Hope to converse with you all again closer to the trade deadline - keep putting up those empty stats Russ, Deebo, and Lavine!
