Not sure how we can get him. He will get claimed off waivers by a lower ranked team

    HB IS BACK

HB’s deal is a bargain compared to some other deals out there

    HB IS BACK

So we still have some $18 million in cap space remaining? Give or take a couple of million. I suspect something else drops at the start of FA

    HB IS BACK

Its around the price for solid NBA starter. Huerter is at $16m, Bojan Bogdanovic is around $17m plus a lot of similar level players. MLE is at $12m these days and that doesn't get you a solid starter in most cases.

Some of those RFAs would be really good fits here but I highly doubt Monte will even consider RFAs as he doesn't want his cap space to be held up for 48 hours as its limits his ability to get someone else if the other team matches the offer. I think we will be going after UFAs for that reason...

$20 million 4 years ago is not the same percentage of the cap as $20 million this year. When Harrison signed his current deal, the cap was probably around $92 million. He signed for somewhere in vicinity of $20m per season. $20m this time around is lesser percentage of the cap than it was 4...

I think people are with the fairies if they seriously think that Barnes won't be getting $18-20 million per season. People need to stop looking at it as a number look at it as a percentage of the salary cap

Newsflash - you are not going to get a superstar on $20m per season contract in today's NBA. Just ain't happening. On Vezenko - he is not going to be nearly as featured on Kings offense as he has been with Olympiacos. They designed the entire offense around him. That is not going to be the case...

Vezenkov? Really! How many people have seen Vezenkov play here? He cannot create his own shot. He barely takes more than 2 dribbles. He is excellent shooter coming off the screens or spotting up but he is not someone who is more than that. He was the MVP of the Euroleague season because...

Except that cap space disappears pretty quickly next year when Sabonis gets a bigger yearly salary, when you need to re-up Monk etc. Rolling the cap space into next year is fine if you are Houston or OKC but not if you already have a reasonable payroll of veterans some of who are going to be...

Jake Fisher article: Sabonis extension expected to be around 4years/120 million

I recall there being probably as much of an outcry when we got HB. Fact is that HB has his best years in Sacramento. I expect similar sort of thing with Kuzma. Efficiency will go up simply because he will get more open looks in our offense. He would give us more length and rebounding than we...

Jake Fisher article: Sabonis extension expected to be around 4years/120 million

$120m for Sabonis seems some $60m less than the max for the duration of the contract. I will believe it when I see it. On Kuzma - he is arguably a better player than HB was at the same age. Like HB, his efficiency should improve when he is no longer #1 or #2 option on the team. Its about...

    Brook Lopez

And even if you play them together for 20 minutes, if I am an opposing team I am putting those two in pick and roll all night long and putting the Kings on the back foot. There is a reason why you do not see any of the teams playing 2 Cs in the line up.

    Brook Lopez

Except our offense is not places to play from the block. Its mostly Sabonis on the elbow and 3 shooters and Fox around him. That is not going to be changing any time soon. Defensively, Sabonis or Lopez cannot guard 4s or small ball 4s. They have proven that time and time again. It works for...

Kings trade Richaun Holmes and 24th overall pick to Mavericks for ????

The problem with all that is that in free agency, teams generally need to offer more than any other team out there. So setting a reasonable salary on any of those free agents, especially the restricted ones rules you our of the running before you even take the next step. Nets are said to be...

Kings trade Richaun Holmes and 24th overall pick to Mavericks for ????

Could not agree more. However, can't see Bucks trading him as he is a perfect fit next to Giannis the same way he would be a perfect fit next to Sabonis

    Brook Lopez

So when you come up against team that would play "small ball 4s" e.g. Durant, Wiggins, George, MPJ etc.....who is going to be guarding those type? Domantas or Brook? League has gone smaller. Sabonis at 4 is not going to work unless you have a 5 who can block shots, guard anyone from 2 to 5 and...

I think its pretty obvious that we are most likely going after Kuzma in FA. He sort of fits a need but at the very least he is another asset that can be added to the team for an upgrade down the track.

    DraymondMania 2023

I like Draymond. However, his age does not fit with the timeline of the rest of the group. Last thing you want is paying Draymond the type of money towards the end of that contract. The player we get should be the same timeline age wise as our core to extend that run. Hence why ideally we would...
