    Kings make offer to Iguodala

Better how? Defense is the only think I can think of that he's better than Calderon at. Calderon is a better shooter, passer, and has less TO's.

If you want a floor spacer then you take Calderon over Vazquez every day.

    Kings make offer to Iguodala

This would be the better outcome to me than getting back Vazquez. Lopez + Calderon > Vazquez + Lopez

    Kings make offer to Iguodala

He's a career 40% 3 pt shooter and last year he shot 46% from 3.

    Kings make offer to Iguodala

Calderon is a good shooting PG, and they could use the MLE on him. This may be the reason they brought him in for a visit.

If they ultimately decide not to bring him back, this has to be their thinking.

Just read the same thing. Well, there goes that theory.

    Kings make offer to Iguodala

Its not like the team will be in salary cap hell for a long time. They have moveable pieces, and even if they dont move anyone, a lot of the dead money comes off the books after next season .

I dont think so, we just couldnt match to keep. Other teams that have unrestricted free agents can still sign them and go over, or am I wrong?

If you're talking about someone like Calderon we could always use the MLE

Renouncing Tyreke doesnt mean we still wouldnt be able to resign him, it would just be without the ability to match and keep him.

    Kings in mix for Iguodala

If thats the route they new FO takes it would seem that would be their plan. The only reason I would think they dont bring Evans back is that they just dont think he'll thrive at the PG or SF position, and they plan on having McLemore as the long term floor spacer they want at the SG position.

    Kings in mix for Iguodala

I think the most likely route to getting both would to do a S&T with Denver to get Iggy and send them someone like Thornton, or renounce Evans' Qualifying Offer, sign Iggy, then have Evans sign a deal with us and going over the cap. Only thing with that plan is that we lose the security blanket...

    Kings in mix for Iguodala

Where was this reported? Ziller did an article today debunking the argument that the Pelicans can poorly structure an offer to Reke or include a "poison pill". I'm pretty sure they can't do a 7/7/15/15 contract.

    Kings in mix for Iguodala

I want Tyreke here, and hope they match the Pelicans offer, but I'm not gonna jump off a building if they decide he doesnt fit into their plans. And if they are able to bring in AI, then clearly the old myth about big name FAs not coming to Sac would be dispelled, probably because of the new...

    Kings in mix for Iguodala

I would be cautious about all these reports. Could just be agents leaking info to inflate the asking price for their clients. I wouldn't flip out yet. I doubt a supposed cap expert would offer him the Max unless it was actually structured very favorably or so we could get out of it early.

And It Begins....Pelicans About to Talk to Tyreke Evans

I think he is capable of playing PG, my biggest gripes with him when he did play PG exclusively were walking the ball up the court, and being hesitant to make the first pass to initiate the offense. With good coaching, a good system, his natural growth as a player, and a SF to share those...

And It Begins....Pelicans About to Talk to Tyreke Evans

No, especially since I think it puts JT in his most productive role as the first big off the bench, coming in at either the C or PF position.

And It Begins....Pelicans About to Talk to Tyreke Evans

If they FO ultimately passes on Tyreke, the only person that might make me reasonably satisfied as a replacement would be Jeff Teague, but he's a RFA whos current team has a ton of money to match any offer if they chose.
