    Welcome Jalen McDaniels

The cap space eventually allowed us to sign and trade for DDR, so it really only costing us Mitchel and the 2nd round picks. The one were trading to dump McDaniels is top 55 protected from Chicago, so unless they are a top 5 team by 2031, the pick won't convey. Maybe this opens up enough salary...

    Training Camp 2024

Of all the deep bench guys, IMHO Issac Jones (and Boogie Ellis) popped the most to me during summer league. I’m hoping he can become a rotational high energy bench 3/4/5 in time.

    Training Camp 2024

Maybe we are all sleeping on McDaniels here? Hopefully, if he can regain the form he had the prior season, we may have a cheap 3 and D option at the 3/4.

    Training Camp 2024

I had high hopes for Crawford after we signed him this summer, but he didn't show much in summer league. I'm hoping with some time in Stockton, he can develop into a viable option off the bench.

Lyles strains groin, McLaughlin sprains ankle

IMHO, I thought Issac Jones actually flashed some ability during summer league. Seeing the dearth of full size options at the back up SF/PF position, I wouldn't be surprised to see Issac getting called up for some games during the season if there are some injuries.

Jae Crowder to join workout/tryout with Kings in latest roster player finding mission.

Crowder played in 50 games and averaged 23.1 min and 6.2 pts per game for a good Milwaukee team last year, which is fine for a bench vet. He would definitely add some much needed toughness to the bench if we added him. Coach Brown tends to favor these tough grizzled vets for these end of bench...

IT, JTA, and Lonnie Walker in town for workouts

Terry Taylor the Red Rooster. That's a great signing! :p

    Kings interested in Robert Williams

Agreed. I think a sharp shooting SG/SF capable of backing up the 3 in Huerter is more valuable off the bench than an oft injured big man with this current roster.

    Keegan “KEEGAN MURRAY” Murray

Keegan can be very special. What's holding him back is the lack of consistent aggressiveness night in and night out. If he could just stay aggressive every night (or at least 80% of nights), he could become a Kawhi Leonard type two way star.

[Game] LVSL Kings vs Jazz: July 15th, 2024, 10:00 PM ET/7PM PT

Yeah, I saw an interview with him before the draft and he didn’t seem to have a killer instinct. I think he said he wanted to be “well liked” when asked how he wants to be viewed. Lol

    Monte McNair

Yeah, I like Kessler too. I don’t know why Brown doesn’t use him more. If Monte doesn’t sign another SF, Brown may be forced to play Kessler (if he is re-signed). His defense has always been stellar.

    Monte McNair

Not sure if McDaniels will be in the rotation. Brown tends to favor players that can actually be a factor on the offensive side of the ball to play. McDaniels seems more like end of the bench player (12 to 15th man) to me. If Davion (pre-last 25 games) and Kessler could hardly get off the bench...

    Monte McNair

Huerter is literally the only experienced player that can play the 3 off the bench on the team right now. You trade him to get another backup 3 and we are still super thin at the 3. That’s why Monte should sign a veteran free agent 3/4.

    Monte McNair

The Kings are still awfully thin and small in the 3/4/5 area. One major injury to one of our front court players could be devastating. And I don’t think shipping out Huerter (our only legitimate back up 3) would be the answer. Trading Huerter would only thin our front court. Monte needs to...

Devin Carter to undergo shoulder surgery

Unless someone has really secured the 4th guard spot (Colby, M Jones, or McL), I wouldn’t bet against Carter just showing so much defensive tenancity in practice that he doesn’t earn some minutes in Brown’s rotation. If he comes back at the 6 month (mid January) mark, the Kings would be right...

    [NBA] 2024 Free Agency mega-thread

Yeah, I wanted to get Reed too. Now it's time for Drew Timme to grab that 3rd center spot if he performs well in the summer league and training camp. I still think he could stick as a 3rd center on our roster. A poor man's Sabonis.

How to Finish Building Around our Big 3?

Considering we are close to being hard capped, I would try to sign Paul Reed and/or C. Osman with our remaining cap space to fill in the backup 4/5 and 3/4, respectively. Unless we are able to do an even swap of Huerter for a SF/PF type, I would probably keep Huerter and have him backup the...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

So, in layman’s terms, how much money do the Kings have to work with, before we hit this hard cap?
