Shot Blockers. We need one.

My top three options for a Shotblocker would be, in this order : Seraphin, Wright, Stiemsma.... Or Kirilenko at Powerforward I wouldnt mind.

We have had three legit shots at shotblockers (Whithey,Mitchell,Lopez) and we've blown all of them.. Landry instead of Lopez.... sigh I dont think I will ever forgive that move. And Whithey will come back too bite us in the ***, I promise you that.

They got Morrow too. He would have been a good replacement for Salmons at the 3 spot.
I know. There have been several teams cleaning up this summer on moves we should have made. I am tired of untrained monkeys running this franchise.

Not sure if Morrow is really starting material BTW, but as a rotation player his ability to stretch the defense would actually be a move made to help Cousins, rather than randomly collecting everybody else's unwanted spare parts.

Looks like Stiemsma is going to the Pelicans so we can cross him off the list.
It feels like the pelicans front office is lurking around this site and doing what we ask the kings to do. Sign tyreke? Check, get a small forward? Check, get a shot blocking big? Check.

Hmm I wish the kings would trade chuck Hayes for Anthony Davis. Worth a try :p

the Pelicans should definitely revisit their stance on trading Anderson for Asik, though. they've been terrible at that of the floor last year (nearly as bad as us and the 'Cats) and have actually weakened themselves trading Lopez. as appealing as Ryan Anderson makes that roster look offensively, I'm not sure it's worth the trade off defensively. Stiemsma cannot be all there is.

Stiemsma is probably a stop gap. They also got withey in the tyreke trade. So either withey develops while they have stiemsma for a year or if not they can get another big next year.

thing is, they have some urgency being good this year, considering they've traded their pick away and would look rather dumb if the Sixers wound up with another top 6-10 pick thanks to them. maybe they're going into the year with this team, but they might be looking to trade Gordon at the deadline, if he stays healthy, they have too many holes elsewhere.

Just jumping in for the first time on this thread. Would be nice to have a shot blocker but most of them are offensive liabilities. I think we will all find that a defensive scheme under Malone along with the PF and SF on roster now may just surprise everyone. If 5 guys are playing defense, including a 6-6 PG and a 6-5 SG etc, then shot blocking could well increase as a basis of good defense, rotations (finally) and weak side defense (finally). Would like to see Lighly and couple others in summer league as to their hops. Bottom line: i'd rather have team defense and rotations for now and concern about shot blocker a bit later.

Seeing as Daly will most likely be taken up by the Mavs, I would like to see the FO go after Oden. If he is willing to come cheap, play for an up and coming team/franchise that will give him regular minutes (not a lot, but regular), I would love to have him. There is a huge risk, but if it works, we could reap the benefits!

Why even waste the roster spot? We all know what will happen.

There are more productive players out there without the question marks. There are several reserve C's out there for the taking.

Do we though? A healthy Oden next to Cousins is a championship frontcourt. If the odds are 1 in 20 that Oden stays healthy, but you only have to pay him $2 million over two years, that's a gamble I would gladly take, as long as it's Vivek's money.

I'm buying an AK jersey instantly if we are able to sign him. You play him at either the 3 or 4. Maybe start him with luc, or if we sign a defensive big, slip him to 3 and cousins to 4.
