We've made an offer to Monta?

Psssst Hey Monta!!! You know you are gonna have to pay 13% California Income Tax if you take Vivek's offer, Dallas TX has -0- state income tax

Just take the Cuban offer and send me 10% of the 1,400,000 of taxes I just saved you as a tax consultant!!! (That's about $140,000 - and I only charge for the first year of your contract!!!))

Of course we need to trade MT, and also IT if we can. I like the pizza guy, but there won't be enough minutes for him if we get Monta. Then, he's an expiring next year, and I doubt they want to give him the money he will ask for.
Correction - IT is an expiring THIS year. I don't think he's going to be resigned (I'm guessing he'll look for JJ Barea type money) and thus they may look to move him this offseason, especially if (gulp) Ellis is signed since he'd lose his minutes and lower his value. Perhaps paired with another ending contract like Patterson, Salmons or Jimmer.

I like that! And I'm actually sure that's part of the consideration. :)

may be an inferiority complex or may be the truth, if he is deciding between us, Atlanta and Dallas and all three offers are in the same ballpark, I don't see how we are in the equation

This dumping on Vivek is, IMHO, not cool at all. It's kind of embarrassing to me, truth be told. I'd like to think Kings fans are better than this. That we do not sink to ridiculous insults against someone.
I was joking :) I totally love Vivek and trust his decisions. Again, just a joke. Sorry wont joke about him again.

Woohoo with $140,000 I can buy 5 more Harleys!!! Ooops I forgot I gotta pay tax on the $140,000 well may 3 more Harleys (or 2 more and a bigger garage - lol)

Yes, he can do what he wants, but he's not immune from criticism for those moves.
I'm assuming they know more than us. If your conceding we will never be able to attract a star free agent here, you are going to get a talented player who no one else covets and coach/mold him to be what they think he can be

I actually am not as against this as most of you (don't kill me), but I think adding him to this current roster would be a mistake. If he is signed, I think Monta starts at PG with Bmac next to him. It's an interesting thought and would be fun to watch.... on offense at least. We would get killed on the other side of the court. I feel like they are trying to replicate Curry & Klay, with Monta impersonating Curry while we have a better version of Klay.

Dallas is still smarting over Howard's decision to go to Houston, so I have to think that Cuban is not gonna get squeezed out in the Ellis stakes if he really wants him. I wouldn't blame Ellis' agent at all for using Sacramento as the boogie man.

If we sign Monta I guess it's pretty much guaranteed that either Thornton or Vasquez gets traded. I hope we get Monta... explosive scorer, insanely quick, can do pretty much everything Tyreke could do offensively probably a little better.

That MIGHT be true, if something had actually happened. But this is all based on nothing more than rumors and unnamed sources. And, even if it were true, there's a big difference between legitimate criticism and snide sarcasm, which is what I thought the original post was. (To be fair, OR did tell me it was nothing more than a joke.)

And has the defensive acumen of a folding chair.

Taking a deeper look at Monta and found (not surprisingly) that his numbers skyrocketed with the acquisition of J.J. Reddick. I don't think you could pick a worse back-court partner for a player like Monta than Brandon Jennings in the entire NBA. That duo was destined to fail from the start. Hell, that whole team was destined to fail from the start. You have 3 incredibly efficient shooters (Reddick, Ily, Dunleavy) being wasted by watching Jennings and Monta chuck the whole game.

So, in theory, I do think Monta would be a bit better here playing with a guard rotation like Vasquez and McLemore+ a big like Boogie.

I really don't want to get into this again. He has way more money than me, yes. He was very successful in making that money, yes. He bought the team, and saved it from Seattle. No arguments. His basketball acumen can be questioned.

We have to grow our own star talent or trade into it. That hasn't changed. Those are the kinds of players you look to coach up, not questionable character guys who "have it all". Ellis does nothing for this team but plunge it into mediocrity. (Yes, I understand mediocrity is a technical improvement.) These are not the vets to build around.

Well thornton can't play point. I wouldn't mind a 3 guard rotation of bmac, ellis, and Vasquez. Although Evans, Ellis, Bmac would have been pretty sweet. Now if we was to do a sign and trade with Bucks thornton for Monta. Would they take IT and JT for Sanders thrown in as well? or are they pretty high on him?

I'm totally with you there, and I'm wondering if "those who know" are just running with the vague RealGm story.

Either way Ellis or no Ellis, something has to happen to free up room at the SG spot. You either start Ellis/Thornton and bring SacLemore off the bench and waste him, or start SacLemore and waste Ellis/Thornton...then you also have Jimmer, who I doubt wants to be the 4th/5th guard, and doubt you want to waste his trade value while he's stoll young and has some. IMO, you have to package JT/Thornton/Jimmer/Salmons expiring for something of more need, but not sure what now after us getting Luc for SF today, unless you plan on bringing hm off the bench, which I can't really see. Either way I see another deal being made before the season starts.

Well after a visit to the Dallas site, quite a few fans (just like here) not really hot on getting Ellis

Sounds like if they want both Bynum and Ellis they will have to trade away Shaun Marions Salary? to clear space

Again with Atlanta also looking at Bynum they might be in same type of position

With the signing of the new sf I dont see how this would be a bad sign. 1. Monta/vasquez 2. Mclemore/salmons 3. Luc/outlaw? I dont know. I just have faith in pda!!! Let alone cousins is still with us. Yes we wont win the title next year but come on...

I'm starting to come to terms with signing Monta, which means it's probably not going to happen. There is no amount of complaining that is going to bring Tyreke back, so you have to do something to get some talent in here.

I agree that JT and Jimmer have trade value. Jimmer, mostly because of name. JT is the type of big that every playoff team could use. A hustle guy who gets his points without needing to have plays run for him in the offense and throws his body in there crashing the boards. I'm still hoping some combination of players and amnesty of Salmons can net Asik.

my question is this why are the bucks trying to clear space. they sent nearly 5 mil to us in moute for nothing basically. Who are they clearing for? Also if we are indeed after Monta. Wouldn't a S&T be involved in that already. I just don't see us getting Monta. i wouldn't mind Ellis for Thornton but I don't want both.

I could warm up to Monta if MT is moved. IT and Jimmer work cheap and may still have some upside we have not seen.

One of the Bigs needs to be flipped for a tall defensive center. Or for nothing so Cole can be signed. Maybe some 2nd round picks:)
