Iggy clearly has lost step ... Failed to realize Ranadive made his money in real time.
Retweeted by Leslie Moore

For those who don't know, Leslie Moore is Vivek's public relations expert. If she chose to retweet this comment, there's a good reason why. When Vivek tendered the offer, he may well have told the agent they had x hours or the offer would be pulled.

I like the new attitude. We aren't begging and we aren't going to sit around and wait for someone to decide whether or not he wants to accept a huge offer from us.
Yup. Good post. Leslie even helped start the twitter campaign to get Iggy here. If things went the way you think they went (and I agree) she would know.

I don't know about that. They gave the guy a couple of hours to decided his future when he was obviously interested in coming here. What's the rush? Give him 24 hours to think it over. I can see why he would feel insulted.
They gave him about 12 hours, truth be told. Quite frankly, I don't give a rat's patoot about him being insulted. He was given an incredible offer and wanted to play the waiting game to see if anyone else would up it. Now he can pursue those other offers...

When I copy/paste it automatically puts in the link....

I think the name should suffice most of the time.

But I will make sure to delete it so everyone is happy:)

I'm really not interested in the consensus of the ignorant masses operating off 1 viewing a year and rumor and innuendo.

Reke could live up to his deal. But Iggy is never better than he is now. There is no way he could reach the levels that money demanded.

He made a statement on what the consensus opinion is. Honestly, any year free agency hits fans realize these guys make millions upon millions to throw a ball in a hoop and the consensus is usually Mr. throw the ball in the hoop guy is overpaid. Which is true.

And how is that any different from what Tyreke is doing?

Terrible 56million for a 30 year old who relies heavily on athletic ability, better off just keeping Evans............Bad move by the Kings, Iggy got insanely overrated for being a good player for 1 round of the playoffs where the Nuggets got raped. He was not even better than Gallo or Lawson when all three played together.
He's 29 and he can bring VETERAN LEADERSHIP on this team, can't people understand that?!?! it is very important not a sidenote...

FWIW, told today that Tyreke Evans is willing to sign with the Kings if they match the Pelicans money. Prefers to stay.

Vivek said he wants players that are committed to playing here. If you're overpaying somebody to come here and they are still pondering, then they aren't committed to playing here, but $ is making them think.

Them pulling the offer has nothing to do with Iggy's talent, but rather their perceived commitment that he has to playing here. Simple as that.

Maybe, maybe not. Have you ever heard of a FO offering a deal than pulling that offer 2-3 hours later?

I mean, I'm happy it was pulled, but I don't think that attitude, there's a new sheriff in town, we're not going to beg and we'll give you 2-3 hours to decide or we'll retract offers does much good with prospective FA's. Do you think this makes other FA's look at our FO favorably?
I think it makes them look at our front office as one that won't be jerked around. If you get a fair offer, take it or not but don't try and work us against other teams. And I suspect the offer was out there for a lot longer than 2 or 3 hours as you're suggesting.

Lol.

This FO don't mess around. Vivek coming to play.

I really do love this new aggressive attitude. We've been viewed as a weak, disorganized franchise for so long, it's such a shock to see our FO actually act like a strong organization

Amick is saying the actual numbers on Iggy was 4 years, 52 million. Less than the 58 million that Amick basically confirmed that it was leaked from Iggys agent.

Inflated offer number tells me it was a leverage play by the agent to get more money out of Denver or a place Iggy actually wanted to play, and that the Kings were never in it. Who know's, just keep Tyreke.

Has to be something bigger brewing. If Iguodala is your top target, why would you pull an offer on July 2?

And how is that any different from what Tyreke is doing?
ALL the difference in the world. Tyreke has received an offer from the Pelicans. He has not received a matching offer by the Kings. The ball is in Vivek's court in that regard, NOT TYREKE'S.

Taking the offer you get and discussing with other teams is a part of free agency. It's exactly what Tyreke has been doing. Honestly, not the standard I would want to set but we will see.

Yes. It's a good move to set a precedence. We don't have time to waste on being used as leverage when we give you a great offer. It's a good business move in my opinion because it eliminates meeting with agents who were simply going to use Sac. Now you will only be dealing with players who are truly considering playing here.

I don't see how offering a 4/56M contract is a good thing, shows our FO means business and that we're a destination.

And that pulling that same offer hours later also is a good thing and makes our FO look good and that we're a destination.

You can't say both are good, it's a near contradiction. And saying we don't care how Iggy takes this is besides the point. What other FA's will be jumping at the opportunity to have their contract offer pulled out from underneath them faster than what any FO has done that I'm aware of? You can't just go around insulting FA's and then saying, well, no big deal, we'll just go after the next. There's a reason national writers are shocked we pulled that offer so quickly. That's not lost on other FA's.

But we'll see, I'm happy with this outcome but worried about the message it might send.

What? If they match he has no say in the matter.
if they offer a contract straight up without Reke signing an offer sheet, then he can accept it.
If he signs a Pelicans offer sheet, it may be structured differently to prevent matching.

That is why Reke is holding off to committing to an offer sheet from NO. He wants to come back to Sac and would rather get the same one from them that is favorably structured.

its not always about money for people... im sure theres alot of stuff too consider and weigh before deciding where your going too live/play for the next 4 years. They should of gave him more time. I would be super pissed if i was iggy. weasle move...

So weird

Only two days in, and I'm already annoyed. Just makes us look ... idk lol but hopefully this means Reke is agreeing to be here

Maybe we're revising our offer to iggy? Sorry I know I'm late. Haven't read the rest of this thread

Well I'll say this for our new front office, they're not boring! If we've made retaining Tyreke the priority I can't complain. Get him signed first and if we can still work a deal for Igoudala by trading a contract, great. If not, there are other options at SF but at least we're set in the backcourt. Evans/Cousins/McLemore has a longer shelf life, we can add young talent to that and get better over a couple years. Maxing out Igoudala and losing Tyreke grabs attention but it also means losing talent for nothing and constraining ourselves with a shorter window of contention.
