One positive, and actually very possible scenario considering PDA worked with Denver, is that he knew Iggy wasn't taking it and instead would just use it as leverage against Denver for more money. Never really made sense why he'd want to come here at age 29 on his last big deal, anyway. Hmmm.
FO is looking for someone that wants to come here, if you were offered a lot of money and told them you want to still think about it, seems like you are giving an impression of you not wanting to be here.

I hadn't seen a single person who thought this was a good contract/move for sacramento... Besides a few Sacramento fans. The overwhelming consensus was it was a terrible move for he Kings.
It was a terrible move, if you going to overpay, overpay someone young with potential not someone maxed out and going to be in decline

And the overwhelming consensus on Tyreke is the same thing. Bad deals are normal for teams like the Kings, it's a necessity more than anything.

While id rather have than not have, I like the authority of the fo. The team made a great offer, and if you don't want it, we have better things to do than wait.

Dude, you can delete the links, it doesn't take you back to the original tweet anyway.
He's pulling the stuff off hoopshype and not Twitter. The links are embedded...and kind of a pain. Seems a little disingenuous of hoopshype to do that, since it's not their material to begin with.

Exactly. There's a new sheriff in town and he's not going to beg. He made an excellent offer. Since AI didn't jump on it, no need to stand there with his hat in his hand. Moving on...

Go venture off into the void of the internet, well out of the way of insulated Kings land and see what the consensus is.
I'm really not interested in the consensus of the ignorant masses operating off 1 viewing a year and rumor and innuendo.

Reke could live up to his deal. But Iggy is never better than he is now. There is no way he could reach the levels that money demanded.

Every Kings blogger/writer on twitter liked the move, if not loved it.

And now, silence. Will be interesting to see if they face the fire or just go along.

I dunno.. I think you gotta give Iggy time too think it through, its his future... I cant believe this.

This, Iggy was not even that good this past season in Denver, he had a so so regular season at best for him and finally played good for 3-4 of the 6 games against GSW who are not known to be a great defensive team. Kings can do better than overpaying a just who has maxed out as a player. Maybe PDA realized the mistake he made and looked for any small reason to break the deal.

Good advertising for hoopshype. They should at least have it set up so it goes back to the original tweet.

Boy weren't people going on and on yesterday about how the Kings needed to overpay to get free agents to come to Sac? The moment they see this principle in action they go into a state of denial.

I also agree. We've got other options to pursue if you are just going to stop to think about it for a while. The offer was above and beyond what it should have been. Look at Kevin Martin - jumping on an offer quickly today. Gotta know what you want and what you can get. Folks aren't going to wait around forever.

Iggy clearly has lost step ... Failed to realize Ranadive made his money in real time.
Retweeted by Leslie Moore

For those who don't know, Leslie Moore is Vivek's public relations expert. If she chose to retweet this comment, there's a good reason why. When Vivek tendered the offer, he may well have told the agent they had x hours or the offer would be pulled.

I like the new attitude. We aren't begging and we aren't going to sit around and wait for someone to decide whether or not he wants to accept a huge offer from us.

I'd say the vaste majority of Kings Fans wanted Iggy for any contract. That means nothing to me, but I'm just a basketball fan living 1000's of miles away. Vivek and co will have some explain to do to the locals they excited over nothing.

I'm fine. I'll take Evans and be very happy about it. Now, If we let Evans walk without Iggy...

I don't know about that. They gave the guy a couple of hours to decided his future when he was obviously interested in coming here. What's the rush? Give him 24 hours to think it over. I can see why he would feel insulted.

Maybe, maybe not. Have you ever heard of a FO offering a deal than pulling that offer 2-3 hours later?

I mean, I'm happy it was pulled, but I don't think that attitude, there's a new sheriff in town, we're not going to beg and we'll give you 2-3 hours to decide or we'll retract offers does much good with prospective FA's. Do you think this makes other FA's look at our FO favorably?

They could need a verbal agreement before the 5th from a free agent for sign and trade with NO including Lopez. Otherwise Lopez will be waived and no sign and trade can happen.

Yea. That was the funny part to me. Almost everyone who wasn't attached to the Kings in some capacity thought it was a foolish decision. I think the lack of high end free agents plus a need at SF blinded Kings fans a bit.

My guess would be the supporters of the move see this eventually. Well unless we don't make any other moves, then there will be a lot of whining about how we blew buying our way into being a middle of the row team for the next four years...

1. Iggy was going to use the Sac offer to leverage other teams, The Kings just let him and everyone else know that they a generous, but not fools or tools.
2. If PDA makes AK 47 an offer well above anything else on the table, how long do you think he will 'think about it"?

#89
Ok.. now back full circle.. Before our interest in Iggy popped up over the last two days, I thought he was a quality role player that in no way deserved a big contract. Of course when our deal popped up, being the passionate fan I am, I envisioned some type of great player coming in and changing the culture of the team because that was the supposed vision of our respected management. Now that I have had 40 minutes to cool off, the guy is a role player who we were paying 4/56 to, and I'm sure if it wasn't meant to be there is a reason for that. You have to respect the balls of the ownership to lay down the law and how that will translate long term

Hey, they DID say they were going to be aggressive. Sounds like they didn't want any bull**** or time wasted and moved on. Balking at getting overpaid certainly sounds like maybe he wasn't too interested, or at least not enough for the FO.
