Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Makes me kinda nervous.
That's largely for his fanbase. Although the NBA is going to have to wink wink him on expansion if they don't want to risk him trying to sue them, or sue the Maloofs if they sell to us. But he made those same arguments to the relocation committee. They didn't work. The Kings only need 3 of the remaining 17 owners to agree with the 12-0 vote in the relocation committee for relocation to be shot down. Then we need exactly 8 of 29 guys who just shot down relocation to cancel the sale. Barring some catastrophic revelation amongst the Kings ownership group, there is just no way.

Hansen is posing for his fans, and he's trying to leverage an expansion team from the NBA.

Mostly agree but only 7 actually voted.

Spoken like an attorney. From a PR perspective, ever since the decision was leaked hundreds of posters on the Seattle fans sites have sworn off the NBA for good. If H/B plan to take another bite at the apple by either buying another team or bidding for expansion if it happens, they have to show support. At this point If I am fighting them for a team I would be seriously questioning fan commitment. So this chest thumping is part of rallying the troops for round two and trying to slow down the bile in print. In a short while they will likely politely bow out to "pursue other possibilities."

Supposedly there were "others" on the conference who didn't vote who have "ties" or have actual votes. It was unanimous, and from what I understood everyone that was on the conference call (even those that didn't vote) all agreed.

No chance in hell this isn't a done deal unless Vivek does not deliver on Friday. Once that's done it's gone from having to worry about Seattle to get that environmental study done and WOW the league with a 2015 opening instead of a 2016 opening with Davis Stern, KJ, Vivek, Mastrov, Burkle and Mike/CD/and others taking center stage for the biggest standing ovation you have ever seen.

Im totally being serious about this, but we need to have people donate their time to act as laborers or whatever when the new arena starts being built. I will be more than glad to offer my laborer services free of charge. I wonder if they will set anything up like that. This is afterall, a community effort so I think we should still be able to help.

I was pretty sure that they were gonna stay but now that they are so close to the goal, I'm more nervous now than I was during the whole ordeal.

SportsCenter has "NBA Supports Sacramento" on the side ticker as the next story during post-game interview with McHale. They go to commercial afterwards, come back, and it's gone and they are talking about something else. The post-game interview most likely took up the time for it. It's sad how this isn't even get a few seconds of TV time on ESPN.

Oh god no.. Not me.. I was sick this morning. My stomach was actually cramping up and it caused me to hunch a bit and then my back and neck started feeling it. My whole body was tight.

I feel like I have been in a vice and now the pressure was released.

Its on TNT right now after a close playoff game. Shaq is clapping the team is staying in Sacramento. Chuck is also happy the Kings are staying and said that they can't go through this every year.

to be fair, it's the nba playoffs. that's center stage right now. and jason collins' coming out party is a pretty big deal, too. he's the first professional north american athlete to step across that line. these are subjects with measurable impact well beyond the fate of a single lottery team in ownership flux. but make no mistake, when the sale of the kings to the sacramento group becomes official in a couple of weeks, the major media outlets will all be taking notice. then it becomes a larger story...

Yes! Going to celebrate for reals when this becomes official and we never hear from Maloofs again! Wow, just amazing! makes up for a bad at work in hospital! Was nervous all day regarding the decision today.

Is this another instance of TNT not reporting the story correctly?
Their report stated that the NBA has agreed to keep the kings in sac for ANOTHER YEAR. Huh? Say again? Cmon TNT, do your friggin homework! Or am I missing something?

They just spoke about the Kings on Inside the NBA. I only caught some of what was said:

- Shaq was clapping saying good job to Mark Mastrov, for buying them and keeping them in Sacramento. Shaq said Sacramento deserves an NBA team and that Seattle has the money to get one later.
- Barkley praised Seattle fans, saying that was the most difficult place to play during his time.
- Something was said about a year long contract, and Barkley said that the cities, fans, and players can't go through this for a year. That it needs to be a long term lease.

They obviously aren't well educated on the topic, but at least the news got on national TV.

Here's what ernie said on inside the NBA:

"The NBA has all but officially decided to keep the kings in sacramento, for a year, at least".

What the hell? Cmon TNT.............

Can't a relocation request come up for vote each year, potentially? So hypothetically, if an arena deal isn't set in stone by this time next year, this could all come up again. Not that the new owners would do that unless something gets seriously derailed. But what was said about the team staying put for another year is tecnhically accurate.

Can Hansen/Ballmer come back after this deal is voided and offer 600?

the NBA needs laws/precedent badly that the highest bidder does not end up with the transaction, regardless if the owners want to sell to them or not

This is my read on what they're saying. I imagine they're just being safe.

They are in full fantasy mode over at sonics sinking. It's kinda cute, all the things they are gonna do to Sac and Stern and Bennett and anyone else that wronged them.

You guys are right. I guess anything can happen.

The maloof/balmer group takes this to court and wins. The sacramento deal inexplicably falls apart at the final hour. The deal for the arena is shot down before the team is sold.

Five Stages Of Grief
1. Denial and Isolation - check
2. Anger - check
3. Bargaining - Seattle is here*
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

all media hates the kings, espn said we have the worst jerseys, worst fans, arena, let them hate, with new ownership means we can spend$$$ and then geoff can do his thing, then theyll be on the wagoon.
