I've said this the entire season. You cannot operate a successful offense without a single 2 or 3 who can hit a consistent jumper. Anytime Reke and JJ are in together, you see the defense pack all 5 guys in the paint and just dare those guys to take jumpers. No can deny that Smart needs to handle his rotations better. But there's only so much he can do when your team misses 20+ wide open looks a game.
It's no coincidence that our most successful lineup tonight had 3 players on the court who were capable of hitting a jumper (Jimmer, Thornton, Salmons). Defenses have to stay spaced on shooters and that opens up the lane for penetration, which we're excellent at doing.
