I'd try to swing a Tyreke to Portland for #6 , since they are rebuilding with Matthews, Batum, Hickson, and Aldridge. That is, if they see Tyreke as a PG, Portland probably wouldn't mind rebuiding with:
Evans
Matthews
Batum
Hickson
Aldridge
+ their 10th pick, which would probably be Tyler Zeller
If the Kings could land 6, they have consecutive picks and could address SF and PF, while balancing out their backcourt. Candidates would include Kidd-Gilchrist, Barnes, or either Jones at SF and Robinson, Drummond, or Henson at PF. Then they re-sign Thompson and Williams and find ways to unload Outlaw and Salmons, probably with help from Garcia's expiring.
Here's an example:
Kings' draft Andre Drummond at 5.
Kings' draft Terrance Jones at 6.
Kings add best available backup G with 36th pick to balance the roster, a guy like Jared Cunningham.
Thomas/Fredette
Thornton/Williams/Cunningham
T. Jones/Honeycutt
Thompson/Drummond/Hayes
Cousins/Whiteside
Kings get away with a weaker defensive backcourt due to defensive dominance and rim protection provided by Jones and Drummond. The bench is a bit weak, but the Kings swing for the fences to try and acquire top tier talent.
Thoughts? Realistic or not? Who would be available at 5 or 6 that you would prefer at SF and PF?
