[Game] Kings @ Clippers - 4/7/12

Once again, Cousins and Reke **** the bed on offense. These guys have to wake up sooner or later and realize they're the #1 and #2 options on the team and they have to drop an efficient 18+ a game for us to be competitive. Boogie 5-19 for 14 and Reke 5-10 for 14 with 5 TO's is not getting it done

Call me crazy but I'm proud of our Kings right now. The Clippers are older and wiser and better but, mistakes and all, the Kings are still making a game of it. I'm encouraged by what I'm seeing. Baby steps will lead to big strides down the road.
I agree. And if DMC wanted to, he could knock the teeth out of Blake's mouth. No matter how badly he wants to, he hasn't. So, great thing. :D

The good thing about young teams getting jobbed like this? They remember it and they learn from it. And I swear there will come a time when Cousins eats Blake Griffin for lunch.

A few good minutes for the end of the bench can't hurt...until they just heave up deep threes for no reason.

This is what happens when they feel like they're playing against the world (refs.) Not saying it's right. But I do believe this is what happened tonight. I think they just want to get off the floor.
This is probably somewhat true. But situations like tonight is where Cousins and Reke have to step up and put the team on their back. Boogie has flat out got to shoot better than 25% from the floor and even more concerning was Reke flat out looking like he didnt care. He was horrible defensively, missed layups he normally makes, committed 5 turnovers, and flat out quit on several possessions defensively. Yes, they are young, but they have got to embrace that they are the franchise players of the Kings and start acting like it on the court

The question is, is that the only reason they quit? Is there something more? Don't know, but this is our 3rd loss in a row, making it our 7th 3 game losing streak under Smart, with four of those streaks hitting 4 games. And that's not to bash Smart, but it probably is wearing on the guys.

Also, say what you want about Smart, but these type of games haven't happened since he took over the head coaching job. It's going to be up to him to get them ready for tomorrows game
