Congradulations Maloofs - Joe, Gavin, et al. In celebration, I will be permanently removing my "Carl's Jr." avatar as soon as I find appropriate replacement. GO KINGS!!!

Gavin was in tears when the deal was finalized, I'd like to think behind the scenes he broke down and literally slapped sense into George.

Congrats Maloofs sans George. Never liked you anyway buddy. As far as Joe and Gavin, you guys rock out, you deserve it.

I am happy for Joe and Gavin. The Kings are their business. They seem genuinely thrilled with getting a deal to stay in Sacramento.

I won't thank George, because I think if there was anyway in hell he could have pried this team out of Sacramento, he would have. I bet Stern kept him from over-riding what was a good deal for both sides. Not to mention 2 against 1.

Yep, credit due where it's deserved. They put their money where their mouth is and that's all that matters. Congratulations to them and wouldn't it be sweet to win a championship down the line in Sacramento, with Joe and Gavin losing it on the sidelines :p

In the end you heard about the ramblings of the one brother who ran the other business into the ground and was trying to move them so he could have more money to run something else into the ground. His name shall not be mentioned. But I always believed Joe and Gavin had their heart in Sacramento

I have never doubted the Maloofs sincerity or commitment to Sacramento. I may be in the minority but I have always liked Joe and Gavin. I’ve watched these guys at meaningless Vegas Summer league games cheering louder than anyone else in the stands. They are fans first and owners second. Thank you Joe and Gavin for giving it one more shot (even though you had every right to give up) and finally getting done.

Congrats to Maloofs (not all of them) for coming to the party!

Now lets put the winning product on the floor shall we?!

Probably not the right thread but I am not sure they had much choice but to come to the party. Their financial contribution is in line with what other franchises had to put in to get their arenas built so they simply had to come to the party. NBA wanted the Kings in Sacramento and they obviously thought the deal was reasonable considering they were negotiating on behalf of the Maloofs until the AS weekend.

If Maloofs bulked, NBA would have ***** slapped them and forced them to sell...IMHO, they did not have much choice in the matter.

ive been a big maloof proponent but they deserve props on this one, along with the mayor and stern. I just hope this doesn't handicap them from spending on roster, but that will be a discussion for down the road, now, we celebrate!

Okay, I'll get this back on track... ;)

THANK YOU Joe and Gavin for getting this done, for putting up with the likes of Heather Fargo over the years, and for listening when the people of Sacramento and the fans of the Kings spoke out loud and clear.

GO KINGS!

NOTE: A part of this thread had morphed into a discussion of possible uses of the new arena and related issues. I split that discussion into a new thread.

Thanks, Gavin and Joe! Appreciate you wearing your heart on your sleeves....but no air guitar or jumping on the scorers table until we're *deep* into the playoffs. :D

Thank you Gavin and Joe for making the fans in Sacramento very happy. I just hope you find a very active and energetic GM who can make a difference in convincing superstars and retaining good players to play in Sacramento. Otherwise, the franchise will continue with the same problem that makes the Kings suck.

I'm not a fan of the Anaheim flirt, but I am a fan of leaving them sobbing at the altar. There were many times throughout the process where they could have given up. Hell, there were many times when I was so frustrated with the city council that I would have helped them move because, ultimately, they f deserved better. Glad to see it all worked out.

While I don't blame you for flirting with Anaheim, I think it's what had to be done to get an Arena. I think you hoped the entire time, that the threat of leaving would galvanize and focus the city..and it did. As much as Mayor Johnson, Carmichael Dave and the likes have done to get this deal done, the final 35 million had to be bridged by you and AEG. You guys added 25 million to your original offer over All-Star weekend. That was huge, and we all thank you.

To all of the Maloofs [yeah I know but still..] I thank you, I thank you and again I thank you. Yes these are and will always be, the Sacramento Kings!

Let's say I care. I like to see some more cautious fans.
The Maloofs were forced into staying in Sac by the people and city government of Sacramento and the NBA as a business unit.

I wouldn't normally rain on an appreciation thread, but these guys don't deserve appreciation since they were forced into the situation.

Luckily, they're broke, so there will be new owners soon. Until then, get used to the penny pinching rosters.
