[Game] Kings @ Sixers 10/01/12

This Kings team is the opposite of good.

Don't give me any BS like "they need time to play together" - these are WIDE OPEN shots that have been missed by Kings who really have little reason being on the floor.

I refer everyone to my pre-season thread that got locked which asked the question, "How many Kings are reliable, NBA-starter quality?"

As discussed (before personal attacks and accusations of trolling overwhelmed it), we are finding out that the only contenders are MT, and the Tyreke-DMC special cases.

i feel like slitting my wrists when watching him play... is he even trying, its like he wants to be traded. i dont remember him sucking this bad.
His offense is one-dimensional as hell. And by "offense," I mean standing there with his hands in front of him waiting to get the ball passed to him so he can chuck up a three.

The only thing I can think of is the coach is trying to force these guys to show some damned pride in themselves by letting them fail big if they wont. Gotta make these guys want to get better because right now they don't care as long as they're still getting their millions.

SALMONS is 2-17 from three for the last 5 games.................................................................................. you'd think he would stop taking 6 a game?

Might as well give Jimmer some playtime at this point.
Hopefully the coaches don't give up on him. He hasn't looked too hot lately... I don't think he has "sucked" (as some on this board have said), but he has not been playing "good" either. He was dealt a rough hand, but he needs to just endure, get over it, and improve rapidly. This team is in MAJOR need of a true PG.

The problem with that is the replacements were far worse.

This team has a glaring passing problem. Even in our 3 wins just no sharing the ball whatsoever. And no, its not just Evans .. its everyone. Another night and were at 13 assists in the fourth.

Not only will we not win consistently like that, but everyone will hate each other.

Why does everyone constantly make excuses for Jimmer on here? I'd love to see him succeed as much as the next fan, but let's face it so far...he has been bad. He isn't making open shots, he's awful on D whether it's on the ball, off the ball or going through a screen

Thomas and Jimmer are trying to set people up, but at this point they are making too many rookie mistakes and turning the ball over in the process. But the fact they are at least TRYING is a nice start.

Well Reke was setting guys up left and right earlier, and they just bricked the shots he set up. Then.....Reke was benched, and the guys bricking the shots got to stay in and brick some more.

I would argue that Reke has been the least at fault out of the guards and small forwards.

The Kings have no one who would be a first option on a good team, maybe not even a second option on a good team.

Watching the first 7 minutes of the game and watching the Kings miss a ton of shots but move the ball and were ahead by 2 points I felt great. Now they're down by 32, it's outrageous

I think having a selfish (and not very talented) team, a fired coach, and no training/practice with the team is a pretty damn good excuse.

He hasn't been good, but he hasn't been awful.

I'd say a fair assessment of Jimmer would be:

The Good
Running the offense well (or at least attempting)
Positive assist/TO ratio (although it could still use big improvement)
Making a few great passes a game (shows future potential - and unfortunately right now his teammates are not finishing at the rim well)

The bad
Not only is he shooting below his potential, but he is even shooting below average (which is WAY below his potential)
Rookie mistake turnovers
Defense (although it has not been nearly as big a factor in the game outcomes as some are making it out to be)

as fans we tried to sugarcoat the trade for Salmons as much as possible, but everyone deep down inside knew that we committed an ENORMOUS mistake by getting him back.

We added a blackhole and though the way our season has turned out isn't solely his fault, but my oh my does he not make things any better.

No argument here. He seems to be the ONLY one setting anyone up. Jimmer has done a bit of it, Thomas too, but his minutes usually come when the game is already over.

Evans is leading our team in ASP with under 4. If things stay that way that HAS to be a record. And the problem is, I see no sign of our 'ball movement' getting better. I'm not saying it can't, just that there has been no improvement so far.
