Just going up on our site: Peja Stojakovic tells ESPN that he's retiring on a championship high at age 34. Link on way momentarily

I was kind of hoping the Kings would pick him up for a year so he could retire on the team that drafted him. I can completely understand why Peja would rather retire a champion than come back to this mess, though.

Vlade Divac? Retired
Doug Christie? Retired
Chris Webber? Retired
Jason Williams? Retired
Peja Stojakovic? Retired

Farewell to the starting five of one of my favorite all time teams. Sure, they were better with Bibby (who will likely join their ranks soon) but never quite as entertaining.

Many thanks for some great years and more wins and more 3's and more fun games during your time with the Kings. Nothing better than to go out on top. Congratulations and Thanks.

Was my favourite player in the golden days. I remember when he lost the three-point shoot-out.. I was on vacation in Mexico with my family and it totally ruined my whole vacation... I just sat on the beach and drank coronas to easy the pain, but the pain hurt to much.

I'm glad you got your ring Peja, your jersey is already hung up in my appartment with C-Webbs.

Thanks for many great years, Peja. I would hang your jersey I own from the ceiling of my house...but I hope they hang it from the rafters in Arco instead. :)

All the best in retirement big fella!

Enjoy living somewhere on Greek Islands soaking up the mediterranean sun! You've had a good NBA career and won many things along the way including an NBA championship.

Got the ring that he was robbed of in 2002 and that was that. Kicked some laker butt on the way to it.

Thanks for the memories.

Thanks for wonderful memories, Peja. Watching you shoot threes was a thing of sublime beauty. I'm glad you got your ring and I wish you and your family all the best.

(Hi Piksi, I'm glad you stopped by. :))

Wow. Even though I hoped that Peja will play another season in Kings jersey, I knew that he wasn't able to perform on the highest level anymore.
I remember all those big games with him and the rest of the guys(Vlade, C-Webb...) and it brings back wonderful memories. NBA won't be the same to me without my favorite player, but I hope that nowadays Kings will become contenders and win that championship title they lost in 2002.

Honestly, I expected to see something about Peja on the Kings site, but nothing is there right now...

Seeing that Chris Webber congratulated Peja on his twitter account made my day. Finally a proof that there are no bad feelings between those two great guys.

He took my breath away on a regular basis with his Serbian layups. The obvious joy he felt for the game was infectious and warmed my heart. As the last one of that starting five enters retirement, I give thanks once again for being around to share all those fantastic moments.

Thanks for the memories, Peja!

PEJA FOR THREE!!!!
