Kings trading pick!

I'm guessing this is the Parker / RJ move. It's the biggest splash and has the highest hopes for the immediate big boost. This has the Maloof's written all over it. I'll reserve judgement until I see what else is involved.

Well you essentially aid that no one with any basketball IQ would do it. So I guess that means if Petrie does it, he has no basketball IQ.
I've backed Petrie for a very long time. He's made missteps as anyone in his position would, but on the whole I think he is a very good GM. But I would absolutely NOT support him making that move. Mediocre, vastly overpaid SF, aging PG with a recent injury history and a TON of miles on his legs and giving up nearly all the team's caproom to do it.

If Dalembert really wants out it hamstrings the team's ability to sign a replacement after locking up Thornton. There's no part of that rumor that appeals to me.

That move would reek of desperation and instant gratification.

Atlanta is rumored to want a draft pick and cap relief. So that may mean Josh Smith, but that's a lot of cap space for the Kings to eat up. He also has a trade bonus clause which increases his contract for the remaining years after a trade.

I think I'd be okay with Josh Smith, although his contract is huge and he's a low hoop IQ guy.
Thats how I'm approaching Smith too. Big contract, but he's tough, great defender and rebounder ... bad shooter, but with him, Dally, Cousins, and Evans on the court at the same time ..we would be huge and just murder teams on the glass. Too bad he's a knucklehead though .. influence on Cousins could be costly.

I'd prefer Parker and Iggy over Smith, but Smith would be much better than Felton, Andre Miller, Eric Maynor, ect..

If it was the Spurs trade, I think the Kings would have to start denouncing the rights to guys like Jackson and Jeter to signal their intended cap. (I'm not sure, no wiz on this stuff.)

The NBA has confirmed that the order for the 2011 NBA Draft is set and changes cannot be made until Stern makes announcement during draft.

looks like we will not now until draft.

Ugh thats 4 and a half hours of pain and then crushing disappointment.
I think this is pretty much going to be it. Better to keep the hopes as low as possible. Expect the 7th + Garcia for Sessions, and anything else is a bonus. A crappy, brown, stupid bonus, but a bonus nonetheless.

So let's say we traded the #7 plus Casspi for TP & RJ, will we not know until Stern comes up to announce the 7th pick and he says "There has been a trade...." Will he be the one who says what the trade is?

Someone posted this on twitter.

Per Bruce Drennan- Cavs deal with Sacramento is Sessions+32+cash for 7+Garcia . Cavs could take Thompson at 7

Bruce Drennan is a Sportscaster from Cleveland. don't know if its true.

How about Golden State's Monta Ellis to Kings for #7 and Thornton (plus maybe Garcia or Udrih)? Kings get W's #11 which is one pick before Utah at #12 (where they have Fredette targeted) which allows Sac to still get Jimmer or even possibily Leonard. Yippee!
