Sac Bee ad by Kings Fans

Mike, I know how very much you have given to the cause. I'm in for at least $100 and maybe a little more, if we are close.

And for all you critics, I gave much more than that to the American Red Cross within 24 hours of the earthquake/tsunami and I give to many other causes. I can give my money to people who need help and to this. It isn't an either/or choice, you know.

I'm fairly resigned to the idea of the Kings leaving Sacramento. If they do, at least I haven't sat around complaining, whining, or criticizing people who are trying to do something. I'll know I did what I could to keep the Kings here. If the worst happens, at least I won't lose my team and have to live knowing I did absolutely nothing to stop it from happening.

Here's the new deal.

1/4 page ad for Sunday, April 3.

Cost is $1,250 plus $250 for color = $1,500.

That means we would need 15 people to pitch in $100 each to make this happen, or 30 to pitch in $50 each, etc.

The deadline is Wed., March 30th at 12pm.

I would like a new count of those who are in officially and with how much.

I will begin at $100.

I would if I could. I need to send what money I have to my relatives who are out of food and can't work. They are getting no help from the Red Cross or the US or anybody.

No plans for an Anaheim ad, huh. :) BTW, folks, Mike and I have exchanged messages and are kinda on the same wave length. Good enough, that's for sure.

Important efforts will need to be place to email/call CHANNEL 13,10,3, 40 when the ad is printed.

If we can get them to mention the ad, this will expand buzz 10x fold.

I completely understand but at least you're being positive about the idea and showing your support unlike how some others who have already quit. Keep up the good fight!

Do you have a mock up of the ad? Maybe some of the graphic designers of the board would be able to help in that area?

I am for $50.
Got you down. Thanks!

I have no mock up yet. Just trying to guage an interest and if it's a go, we'll come up with something quickly.

I figure we can add a few pictures of any of us at the game, meeting a player, etc. with a short message to show our support, love, dedication and passion for our Kings and the Maloof Family. A simple message of "We Can Work It Out." Just want to get a positive message out there.

The naysayers can complain from behind their monitors, but we will put our money where our mouth is.

Exactly what I was thinking. I was just thinking BIG with a one page ad, but with the news mentioning the ad it will do just as you said.

As of right now we're up to $550. That's from this forum alone. I am waiting to hear back from folks who post on Here We Stay, Sac Deflated and Sactown Royalty sites. There were at least 6-8 folks who said they would pitch in too so let's see how that goes.

You don't have to pitch in $100 but it makes it easier to reach our goal. Please keep those contributions coming in.

Thanks for bringing us up to date. On this site earlier I offered 1/202 which isn't very practical. Please put me down for $100. Tell me what more I need to do to confirm or pay.

Thanks for showing your support.

As soon as I can find out we can pull this off, I'll set up some kind of Pay Pal account so I can go to the Bee and get this done.

Sounds good. Maybe GeorgeofSacramento might be able to provide some pictures! I think this will go a long way to show that fan's are still here, still want the team here, still fighting :)

I love the idea.

If you're reading this George, please e-mail me some of your best pictures that we can use. I don't know how many we will use because it's 1/4 of a page.

Another quick update.

Despite the bad news from earlier tonight, we're now at $800.

We need to raise another $700.

I will NOT give up. I would rather be told it's over and just move on.

We know what happened with the SF Giants years ago and their almost relocation to FL.

Sure it took someone with deep pockets to keep the Giants in the Bay, but we need to rally together and continue to show our support for our team.

This ad has to speak volumes from us. It has to represent the majority of Sacramento and its region. We need to show this area, the Maloofs, the city council, the NBA, the world, etc. that we will not quit and that the Kings should stay and we will find a way to build an arena.

I don't see Anaheim bursting with joy about the possibility of the Kings moving. I have not heard of any rallies at their city hall.

As the old saying goes, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. That's what we need to send as our message too.

Mike,

Have you tried hitting up facebook to rally support? It's a very large social network and there are kings enthusiasts that do not go on the forums to speak about the kings. If you have not tried that avenue, you might want to give it a shot. I'd love to help but right now, i'm barely making ends meet.
