Dish Network Drops Comcast Sportsnet California

Well f'n-A.

I don't pay for cable as I watch very little TV (a few series, NBA & college BBALL) and anything I watch, I get online for free AND get to watch programs on MY time (beats $100/mo for a DVR and paying for 550 channels that I'll never watch).

But it is nice to catch an HD Kings game on a big screen once in a while. Unfortunately, all my usual haunts for doing this (friends, family, bars) have DISH as a provider. Damn.

Looks like it's back to the 15" screen, fuzzy video, unstable stream, stingy eyes and neck strain...but hey, at the very least, it's better than nothing...

As long as this doesn't effect league pass.. Which in guessing it does not, then as a Dish Network customer this doesnt effect me.

But man, if I lived in Sacramento and couldn't watch my home team on TV I'd be pissed. As far as I know there is no contract system with Dish. I'd leave them and tell then why.

Just ****ING great! Just what I needed! I live in a area unserviced by high speed and now I'm going to be forced to by league pass. The whole reason I switched to dish from directv 5 months ago was to watch the Kings in HD... now i can't watch them at all. FML.

O wait, nevermind about league pass! I just read the awesome NBA blackout policy! If the game is being televised in the home market the league pass feed is apparently blacked out in that area! AWESOME! Someone tell me this isn't the case....

Wow and I was thinking of switching over from direcTV to dish network recently . I couldn't find CSNC on their list of channels, now I know why.

League pass is blacked out in the market area. So if you want to watch the games its not on Dish !

What is better? Direct TV or AT&T U-Verse?
My understanding is U-Verse AT&T is now broadcasting Kings games for their subscribers - but maybe not in the past. The problem is U-Verse is still not available in many or at least some areas. I can't get it but have no reason to switch from Comcast and considering ongoing Kings telecast problems elsewhere - too much risk and too much hassle.

SOAB! That's just unacceptable. I've had Dish Network for about 5 years now and have been totally happy with it. Now I'll have no choice but to switch to Comcast or Direct TV, both of which i hate! Supposedly Dish Network is still negotiating with Comcast to reach a deal. I hope they do soon because I really don't want to have to pay more money for less channels with Comcast or Direct TV.

I don't have Dish or Direct TV but I do know family and friends that do and I'm not impressed with either company. I've been with Comcast for years.

I have their HD Premier XF Triple Play (On Demand, Sports Entertainment Package, HBO, Starz, Cinemax, Showtime, high-speed Internet and phone) for $160 per month.

I'm not under contract either.

I bit the bullet and am going back with Comcast. Turns out they have a special going where I'll actually save about 10 to 15 dollars a month for the same basic channels I get now on Dish Network, so all is good. I just hope my experience is better this time, my last Comcast experience was a nightmare (they kept overcharging me, it took weeks to straighten it out). I have no choice but to give them a second chance though because not being able to watch Kings games just isn't an option for me. I would give Direct TV a chance but I don't like their 2 year commitment policy.

Comcast and DirecTV have a history of butting heads. DirecTV dropped VS and g4 because of pricing disputes. I wonder if this was the fate of CSNCA on Dish.....hmmm...

Well, that just sucks. I just re-upped for two years including the free HD a couple months ago.

Just sent them a strongly worded email. Let's see what kind of response I get.....

From what I read Dish asked to go to arbitration with Comcast over it. The arbitrator sided with Comcast so Dish turned the channel off.
