Thank You Petrie !

This cannot be emphasized enough. Does anybody else think that its all too convenient that Geoff's metamorphasis from two-time EoY winner to Lame Duck GM to nascent genius again coincided all too conveniently with the Maloofs' level of meddling?

Props to the Maloofs for being hands off. Props to Petrie for knowing how to run a franchise.
Ditto. :)

I haven't been this excited about an upcoming season since Webber actually reported to training camp with Vlade and J-Will in tow. Thank you Petrie for that feeling again.

You have to remember the Maloofs tighten their purses as well. That hampered GP. The last hoorah for the Kings was the christie trade for mobley

I have been notoriously tough on Petrie over the last half decade. But there was a reason for it -- there was about a 5 year period there where Geoff did very little right. He just wasn't making moves that let you rebuild or win.

I started to change my tune last year because Geoff had started to change HIS tune. Still a remarkable turnaround. Now we got lucky tonight, but lucky or not, when our picks came up Geoff made the absolute right calls. And all of a sudden our future looks real bright.

So I, notorious Petrie detractor, add my post to a thank you Petrie thread.

Petrie to Portland

we are all gracious for the great job Petrie does, but will he continue to do it for the kings? as per Amick's twitter....it says he (amick) has heard some "troubling" petrie-portland rumors....

Hopefully petrie either stays and trades landry for baydless or if he unfortunately moves to portland and takes Pritchard's old job then he will trade landry for bayless and pick (hahaha).

Portland = always outbids

If we could for once outbid portland now would be the time. I quite frankly tired of getting outbit from Portland (all those damn picks they buy, and nonsensical trades where they get picks for nothing).

Sorry when you talk about Petrie we all get a little . . . . .

kind of a crazy thought but is anybody worried Petire might go to Portland?
That would be pretty stupid of him. They just fired Pritchard without cause, and the Maloofs have made it clear that Petrie is their executive of choice. For better or for worse, I don't think he gets fired as long as the Kings stay under current management...he has a mandate here. In Portland, he'd have to spend his time looking over his shoulder, wondering if Paul Allen's crazy was going to kick in.

I was losing faith in GP for awhile but this is great.

The Kings are now a team of shot blockers, scrappers, bruisers, and....Beno.

Amazing turnaround from 3 seasons ago. I dont know if we'll make the playoffs next year, but I can see us being a team that NOBODY wants to play.
