I'd give it a B, maybe a B+. Dalembert is an expiring contract and provides exactly what we need in the meantime. Nocioni was in a gotta go situation so getting rid of him was very good. I'm a little hesitant to give up on Hawes already, even though I wasn't a big fan of his I'm just afraid he is still young and talented enough to put it all together someday. Then again I think it was really time for a change of scenery for Spencer it just didn't look like he got it here.
It also hurts us a little bit this current off season in regards to free agents, since we only have about 15mil to spend now, but on the other hand the odds of us getting a max player anyway were slim to none to begin with and this move clears salary next off season which could end up being far more beneficial.

I gave it an A, because Nocioni needed & wanted to go, I think Hawes' upside is doubtful, and his game doesn't fit with our apparent direction anyway. We got someone well suited to our needs, and he's an ender to boot. I'm sure that the Kings just became a better team. Not so sure that Philly did as well.
Absolutely an 'A'. Maybe Hawes' problem is a different coach every year, but he still had not seen any meaningful improvement since his rookie year. Plus I thought it was going to be impossible for us to move Noc's contract. It is ironic that we end up with Dalembert after the trade rumors back in the day for Hedo->Dalembert and they we ended up instead with Brad Miller.

Petrie gets my full endorsement. Tremendous deal. Nocioni was a malcontent with a toxic contract and Hawes' work ethic and general reliability was a liability. Dalembert provides the Kings with the low post defensive presence they have sorely needed and is an expiring contract to boot. I'm extremely impressed by this deal and think Petrie will somehow improve to A+ status if he manages to draft Cousins with the 5th pick and either Crawford or Varnado with the 33rd.

I disliked Spencer and I hated Nocioni. Dalembert is at worst, an expiring contract. This is a winning trade in all aspects for us. I'm even open to the idea of resigning Dalembert to a short, cheap contract if he decides he likes it here. I hope this does not impact GP's need to get a young, dominant center.
Great job by Geoff Petrie! We get a veteran big man that is tough, can play defense, and get those rebounds and not to mention is a nice guy off the court with all the charity stuff to Haiti. We lose Spencer Hawes a soft and inconsistant big man and Andres Nocioni the over payed , i want to get out of sacramento getting 2 DUI's. Now if we get Demarcus Cousins we have a very tough front court to compete with the elite teams. Grade A-

Spencer had 3 years. He has gone no where. What makes you guys think he's going to develop. He had the talent but lacks drive and motor. He is just not physical enough for center. He could have hit the weight room hard but chose to cruise. He's naturally not very strong and has no heart so he's going to ride the bench the rest of his career. I believe that Cousins could have the same problem but the difference is that Cousins is already big and strong: 290 lbs and 7' 6" wingspan.
Nocioni is a victim of his own failure. He can't shoot, can't drive and can't play defense so good riddance.
Dalembert is big and strong and can block and rebound so I think that he is more useful and Favors. Beautiful trade. This sets up for Cousins, a proven scorer. If we can't get cousins they Wesley would be perfect. We need outside shooter.

There is almost NO downside to this trade for us, and it gives us HUGE options capwise next year, rids us of the responsibility of paying for Spencer--Dalembert is probaby going to command roughly what Hawes will next year, and who would you rather have? It also rids us of Nocioni who had unfortunately become a stinker, even though he's good guy. PLUS it addresses our biggest needs, interior defense, shot blocking. Love this move. Love it. And love the timing.
We traded the two guys that I think needed to go, we gained cap flexibility which could also be used as a major trade piece, and we have the likely option of resigning him at a reasonable price. We killed a lot of birds with this stone. Gotta give the props to the Petrie.
