EC Playoffs Round 2: (1) Cavaliers vs. (4) Celtics

#1
(Apologies if this thread already exists, didn't see one up.)

1st quarter game 1: KG moving and dunking like a young man. Rondo looking fresh. Celtics looking dangerous and not so old...we'll see how long through the series this holds up.

One of the worst officiated games I've seen in a long time - it's safe to say Stern wants Cavs vs lakers to happen this year.

Just heard this on the post-game.

TNT Guy (maybe Ernie?): That was a tough officiated game.

Shaq: Yeah, like in Sacramento when Chris was playing there.

LATER

Webb: Shaq, Tim Donaghy on the phone for you.

Shaq: I'm glad you said that.

Ok, that may not be word for word, but it was a pretty funny exchange. Thought you all might like it (if you didn't see it yourself).

I was thinking that watching the game-Rondo is definitely playing like an MVP caliber player and I was expecting to hear the chants a couple times when he went to the line- kinda dissapointed that they didn't come out, that crowd was energetic and involved and would have picked up on the chance to rub it in Lebron's face. Rondo was doing everything today- carrying the scoring load, finding his open shooters, and fighting hard for rebounds (!!). At this point, Rondo IS Boston, and he should seriously be in the discussion for the best PG in the league right now.

Also, the officiating in this game was HORRENDOUS. Granted, they were giving Boston their calls when Rondo was being aggressive and getting fouled going to the basket, but they were calling way too many phantom calls/ticky-tack calls against the Celtics, especially early when it looked like the Celtics were pulling away and Cavs were playing like crap. Boston fans were right: bull****.

Oh they did, at the end of the game (about 20 seconds left to go, I believe). Rondo had to suppress a smile while they were chanting. It was awesome.

I agree with the rest of your post too, by the way.

Rondo's amazing rebounding shows how quickness and anticipation are more important than height when it comes to rebounding. Heaven forbid if the guy was 6'6".

Bron had no sense of urgency tonight. No effort, no hustle, no motivation. Completely outplayed...It's like he didn't even care, he was all smiles during his press conference...

Absolutely correct. You know what was telling? Not seeing LeBron run back to contest shots on Boston fast breaks. Normally, when a Celt was dribbling down the court on a break you'd see him looking over his shoulder to see where LeBron was. Last night, LeBron didn't contest anything. He just gave up. The Celts weren't the least concerned.

I wonder if last night had anything to do with LeBron thinking this could be his last game in Cleveland? I know it's just one game, but this game could signify LeBron is heading for greener pastures.

Did the league's 2x MVP steal your girl or something? This is really getting over the top.
Don't get me wrong, he's a phenomenal talent, but he's a grade A phony, and every media outlet tries to convince us of the exact opposite. I'm reveling in his backlash, sue me...oh wait, you're a lawyer, forget that part.

I don't like Lebron much either, but I think it's primarily because he doesn't play for us. I've been toning down my negativity because of the one in 12 trillion chance that opinions on this forum would weigh in his decision that he might consider the Kings.

... That's ridiculous, isn't it?
