Tyreke's Mouth, Teeth, Concussion Injury Updates Thread

#62
Artest was dizzy for a while after he got a concussion from his xmas day fall down the stairs. Couldn't practice or play for about 2 weeks.

Hopefully 2 more games is enough for Tyreke.

I hope he takes his time coming back. He's going to be tearing up the league for a long time to come, so there is no reason to rush back.

As far as the 20-5-5 effort, I gotta imagine that missing games against Boston and the Cavs is probably beneficial for that - considering the tough defense that both those teams are playing.

Yes, but it puts him off the media's mind. Too many are already gaga over Currey's second half of the season and think he should be ROY.

Kennadog, you make a good point. The ROY race is tightening down the stretch, and any missed time could be detrimental for Tyreke's campaign.

I think he still has a good shot at finishing the year strong, if he can come back after Boston and Cleveland. After that, the schedule is:

@ Indiana, @ Minnesota (back to back), Portland, San Antonio, Clippers, Dallas, Houston, @ Lakers (back to back).

I think the Portland game will be the toughest for him - with Lakers and San Antonio also being tough games. But, he should tear up Indiana, Minnesota and Clippers.

Well this should help our tanking efforts. Also, I don't really get why some people think Curry should be Rookie of the YEAR.

1. Tyreke averages more points, rebounds than Curry for the entire YEAR. They also have the same assist average of 5.6
2. Tyreke also plays better defense
3. As long as Reke plays 70+ games, I don't think him missing some games would really affect his ROY votes that much.

Guys, the ROY voters obviously know a ton about all of the rooks, they aren't going to go off of who has played the best in the last few games while another is injured. Curry has had a great rookie season, but Tyreke has had a legendary one.

Nuff said.
All this debate is so ****ing stupid.
The thing that really pisses me off is that If Tyreke was on a big market team nobody would be saying anything about Curry or Jennings. It's so stupid.

damn I really hope Tyreke won't miss the remainder of the season 'cause without him we almost at the same level of ****tiness as the one and only clippers

IMHO, anybody who votes for Curry over Reke is an idiot. :p There's no accounting for how people decide to vote, though.

I want to Reke to take the necessary time to he needs to fully recover. Concussions are nothing to mess around with.

You'd be surprised how wrong you may be about that

Curry also played nearly all 48 minutes on the crazy Don Nelson squad, which preaches to shoot once you receive the ball after crossing half court.

Imagine what Tyreke would do in that spread out offense.

30 pts easy. The majority of Curry's assists is crossing the half court line and passing to one of the 4 other players who are standing the 3 pt line.

Tyreke has zero shot. Curry has a beautiful one. While Tyreke has to bully his way inside, Curry can sit and spot up.

Have you seen Curry play? He is very legit. He's got a quick shot, can score in bunches, reads plays well, and is a very mature facilitator. Tyreke can get his points, but I don't understand the need to discount Curry like this.

It's akin to saying, "if Curry had Tyreke's body, he'd be scoring 40"

Actually, if you mesh Curry and Tyreke together and put Cureke at the point, you have the closest to a Lebron point guard, but with a purer stroke.

When Tyreke develops a consistent jumpshot in the next 1 to 2 seasons the comparison will be pointless. Curry is a chucker. He has a nice shot, but he's a chucker. He's also a product of the system he's in.

He can't play defense nearly as well as Tyreke. He doesn't have the man child body that Tyreke has. People do not scheme their entire defensive plan to stop Curry.

Curry is a nice player, but in a few years, esepcially if Curry ISN'T on Golden State anymore you will see the difference.
