Pierce, 32, was the Giants’ defensive captain and played five seasons there. He made the Pro Bowl after the 2006 season, when he compiled a career-high 137 tackles.
The majority owners of the St. Louis Rams have reached an agreement to sell the team to an Illinois businessman who doesn't want to move the team, according to published reports Thursday.

Forbes magazine has estimated the Rams franchise has a value of $929 million, though some experts have said a more realistic sale price will be closer to $750 million.
Around 12:30 he discusses the spike in pass interference/defensive holding penalties and Bill Polian's influence on the competition committee. MP acknowledges the points of emphasis didn't make sense to him as an official.
No surprise there really. Kind of amazing how fast the fall was, though many predicted it due to the way they used him early in his career. Though I have always been pretty critical of his performances in big games, for some reason I almost feel like the Chargers hung him out to dry the past season or two and that it's a sad ending.
Though he has indicated a desire to continue playing, the Philadelphia Eagles have announced that they will be releasing veteran running back Brian Westbrook.
If you want a running back, you can get someone as good as LenDale White in the draft. He's nothing special, and he has his question marks. I think Cromartie is too much to give up for an average running back.

Yeah, I remember hearing his name but I didn't know how good he was. Which by default should put him in the "nothing spectacular" pile, which is why I really don't want this trade to go down. I actually think Cromartie is slightly overrated, but he's still a good corner
The 31-year-old Jones is coming off a season in which he set career highs with 1,402 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns while helping the Jets reach the AFC championship game.
I knew Cromartie was gone, not liking it to the Jets.
Peppers to the Bears in interesting. Seems like they should be focusing on building up their offense for their golden boy and I'm sure Peppers ain't cheap.
Don't know how much impact any of those three player are going to have by themselves, but the Lions are definitely adding talent to a pretty talent-weary roster.
Yeah, that good defense just got better. They had a huge hole in the secondary at the other corner spot, and although Cromartie isn't a lockdown corner, he's much better than Lito Shephard.
Peppers is good, but thats a lot of money. I wonder how much of it is guaranteed? Fairly long contract for a guy thats been in the league for a while and has a lot of wear and tear on his body.

$40 million guaranteed in the first three seasons. So it's essentially $14-15 million/per for the first three years, and then all bets are off after that. Similar to the Haynesworth deal.
And hopefully LdT's downward spiral accelerates... word is they want Brandon Marshall too, would love to see that chemistry nightmare blow up in their faces because on-paper they seem to be a better team than the Pats now.
