Evans lost this game for us... sad to say but true.. the no time out reckless drive in the last seconds of 4th quarter cost us.. he should have just popped a J instead of trying to break kobe's ankles

them being #1 and us being #11 has nothing to do wiht big picture

tonight there were to even teams playing pretty bad basketball and either team could have lost it. We came out on top od losing like usual.

Granted Tyreke was the larger problem. But, if you watch again, see how much dribbling Beno does also (in the OT) periods. Neither guy got us into our offense.
We'll have to agree to disagree. I think Beno played within the offense and looked for his teammates. Evans didn't look anywhere, except at Kobe. I don't have to watch again.

I think he will learn it in due time. This will be a bitter loss after the quick jump to start the first OT. Its better to learn now when nothing is really on the line except pride. I can't help but flash back to a young Kobe trying to win games all by himself early in his career (and much laughter at every game losing brick and airball) and hope that Tyreke learns and develops the same way.
Exactly.

Couldn't agree more. Tough as it is to take this loss, the experience gained in the last two games is invaluable, and more important in the long run than the win. I'm not worried about Reke. Not one bit. Glad the coach has faith in him too.

I need to perminently remove this game from my memory. I need one of those MIB flash things. Were can I get one of those....

Are you serious? I haven't watched the game yet, and I can tell from the box score there have been a lot of upsetting moments, but this result is unbelievable. The Lakers are parsecs ahead of the Kings in depth, talent and experience, and yet these young kings took them to double OT.

The game changed for the worse the second Coach took out Beno out late and inserted Evans. Also why no time outs for the last shot?????? We had it, this ones hard to stomach.

I agree that this and the cavs loss don't mean much in the big scheme of things, ONLY if reke learns that him holding the ball killed us at the end of 2 games. It's not about him trying to show up the 2 best players in the league. It's about getting your team a win!

Westphal pulled a Westfail in OT. Shoulda just stuck with what was working, and this would've been ours. As good as Tyreke is, he's not a PG (or a real good one yet anyway).

I'm not glad that Westphal didn't have the juevos to sit his butt on the bench when he started ballhogging. It teaches the Rook a lesson that he can't play like that, and it also probably gives us a W.

You can blame Evans all you want, but if he was making the shots he would be praised as basketball God. If you want a star on the team you better get used to him hogging the ball at the end of games. I'm still pissed how 3 refs can be so focused on the ball handler and the game winning shot that they completely disregard Thompson being thrown to the ground. Makes me sick.

Now I have to deal with a bunch of Laker fans having no understanding of the game of basketball, only being fans of media darlings..

THIS DRIVES ME INSANE

Imagine being the 1st place team, and coming to play a team you should walk all over and instead, you have to play doublt OT and rely on the other team's mistakes to win.

Refs gave the Lakers the game once again. I'm sick of this ****ing bull****.

I mean really?.. why is this **** acceptable? When will this bias *** **** stop?

Gasol didn't just maybe foul Thompson, he ****ing THREW HIM TO THE GROUND! It's unacceptable. Why even watch a game when its ****ing obvious the league wants the Lakers to win?

One OT loss to Cavs. Two OT loss to Lakers. What's next a three OT loss to Melo and Nugs? Ugh!! Just need to execute at the END of these tight-tight games.

Okay, I took a deep breath and exhaled...and some of you are right. It's easy to blame tyreke and forget the fact that this is a young team and they will learn from these mistakes. I'm just sad because we could have won the game... but they did take the reigning champs to double OT and that's nothing to sneeze at. And I'm pretty sure they're going to be harder on themselves than I'd be anyway.

I still LOVE THIS TEAM!!!

I think what you may be missing is the bigger picture -- Westphal intentionally put him in that position, and even called some of those clearouts. Call it (over)confidence, call it teaching, but it wasn't a case of Evans breaking the offense, it was a case of him not executing it.

as long as you win it - no one cares

Kings won so many games like this in 2001 -2004

back to back game with a starter down after a tough loss

that is why they are #1

Actually, they were both shoving and JT flopped one way, Gasol the other. Probably a good no-call at that point. And I really hate to admit that.

I've taken several deep breaths and still can't seem to figure out why westphal would change what was working, take tyreke out, watch tyreke lose 1 OT for us and still not take him out going into 2 OT. Just doesn't make sense. Sure he needs to learn, but a win would have been nice to say the least.
