I think no one will object. Lay it on thick friend, have fun :D.
That's all I wanted to say. People around here have been doubting Sergio since the 2006 draft. I've been waiting for this thread since the day we passed up on drafting Sergio for douby. In 24 minutes he put up 24/5 with 0 turnovers... He was on pace for a 48/10 game lol...

Sergio? You mean that bum who was traded for the #31 pick? You mean the pick that could have been Dejuan Blair? You mean that Sergio guy can actually play? You mean GP actually knew what he was going?? Go figure. ;)

I didn't have Sergio that high on my draft board that year. But I would have taken him over Douby. However, I did defend the trade to bring him here. I've always liked him, and I know this is sacrilegious, but he may end up being better overall than Rubio ends up being. I think people tend to forget that Sergio is still very young. I'm happy for him. He was the complete package tonight..:)

I have always liked Sergio's game and potential. Of course, the knock on him has been his outside shot and that he is almost too unselfish at times. I would swear that the coaches must have told him to look to score more when he drives to the basket. Other teams are so used to him passing, that at least twice tonight the defender actually got out of his way because they thought he was going to pass (giving him an uncontested layup both times). Hope he keeps it up.

lets not get ahead of ourselves here, sergio is a good player but he is a poormans he who shall remain nameless...

i agree with everything else that you said though.... sergio was the player that i wanted on draft night, then farmar and then rondo... and then marcus williams... all i wanted was a pg and we ended up with a douby, usually i dont mind that, often times i prefer it but that was one night that i wanted to (puff, puff)pass on a douby.:D:cool:

Sergio is passive even on My Player. Boy I can never get assists through him on the floor. What a wonderful night for him. I'm glad that he had such a breakout game. Imagine that, I think we've had a "Any Questions?" thread for at least half the team (and the season isn't even a quarter of the way through!) I'm very excited to hear how it hasn't been just one guy trying to carry us, but each individual stepping up to help the team. These wins are just pluses to build on the confidence of each of those players. It's great to be a Kings fan!

I had also wanted the Kings to draft Sergio, but he had been inconsistent so far, but in his defense so were his minutes. He's shown a drive game that I hadn't seen much of from him before and he is putting out some defensive effort. When he ran in there to grab that board from Collison I was like WTF. It was more than I had seen before. He could always pass, it was just the rest of the game that kept him benched.

I have a question. If a player somehow gets 0 turnovers in a season or at least up to a certain point of the season, what is his AST to TO ratio :p

In theory, something divided by zero is infinite LOL

Yeah, he's only 23. Steve Nash started playing in NBA at his age, and started being an all-star PG with almost 28 years. I don't know if Sergio will reach that level, but the point is he has yet that top-level court vision, and still have a lot of time to get better and better in his weakness, shooting and defense.

I liked the guy too. Not because of this game but the first time I saw him played this season. I can see a Steve Nash in him in that he can pass, shoot, drive and play very smart.

Not sure on how he plays defense but offensively he could be the true pg that some people is looking for.

And because talking math is cool...
Well, at least fun (for some)

Actually, something divided by zero is undefined, not infinite
To bridge the 2 (infinite and undefined when 0 is in the denominator):

Anything divided by 0 is undefined, but...

When the denominator approaches zero, the function (or A/TO ratio in this case) goes to infinity. It looks like this:

lim (A/TO) = infinity
TO→0

while

A/TO when TO = 0 is undefined.

Ah...math.

As for Sergio...nice.

Question: what non-injured King has not received an "any questions" thread yet? (May is the only one I can think of. Maybe Brockman?)

#25
answer = X/Y
is the same as
answer * Y = X

if X is a number and Y is a zero..what the answer? Anything multiply by zero is zero so therefor there is no number that can be multiply by zero to get X. So it is undefined.

yeah, it would be undefined, by definintion you couldnt have a A/TO ratio without a turnover.... it would just be assists...

You may or may not be right. I watched Rubio play yesterday on NBA TV. The other team had a very quick point guard whose name eludes me. Rubio couldn't guard him to save his life. Rubio may become the cats meow, but until he comes to the NBA and shows us what he can do at this level, night in and night out, I'll reserve judgement.

When Petrie drafted Douby I was disappointed. My hope was that he knew something I didn't. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, since I didn't know much about Hedo or Peja and they both turned out fine. Unfortunately, Douby didn't!

i saw part of the game when they replayed the game, how many euro players are good defenders? krielenko... dirk has his moments, i guess... all of the spanish players are softies... peja can only defend the mavs. maybe its a cultural thing i guess....

That's because of the different rules. In FIBA there's no 3s rule in defense, so D is can be more complex strategicly and less physicall. You don't need to defend your guy as if your life were on it. Not only defense zones (wich are also a world apart without the 3seconds rule): even when playing individual defenses, every defender is aware to jump to the man with the ball if necessary, as you can be in the zone between your man and the man with the ball without worring about the 3s rule, so everyone is always aware to help defending a guy even if is not the guy with you are matched up.

If you see FIBA individual defenses they seem softer, of course, but the fact is that without the 3s rule the overall team defense is more effective. That's why here it's not very frecuent to see match scores higher than 100 and that's why Brandon Jennings didn't score more than 17 points when he was at Italy. People scoring 30 or more points is a exceptional thing.

Another rules, another basketball.
