Kings Fan’s TV Show Draft! - Round 20

3-2-1 Contact (1980-1988)

The first science show I can remember watching. Remember the Bloodhound Gang?
Wherever there's trouble, they're there on the double!

And why the heck wasn't Mr. Bloodhound ever around? My theory is that the kids had him tied up in the basement. :D

Me: Bah!!! Its my island tv station! And I don't like ______. Why do you keep harassing me?!
My brother: Fine, but you should get some variety shows in your programming. Do Kingsfans speak spanish?
Me: What are you getting at?
My Brother: Don Francisco. Chacal. Sissi.
Me: You're a freakin' genius! Oh... You know what though? Archie Bunker ain't gonna be too happy.
My Brother: Who cares about that old biggot, we have an amazing opportunity!
Me: You're right. Lets give old Don a call... You speak Spanish?

Sabado gigante - (1962-Present)

You don't speak Spanish? Neither do I, but I watch the show anyway. It's a variety show. How can you not watch something filled with pranks, crazy games, beautiful women and star performances? It almost makes it funnier, not undersanding. I'm pulling for the Hispanic vote! I'm En Fuego!! :D

On my way to bed, but don't want to leave things hanging since I'll be busy all weekend, so here's the quick and dirty version.

Doctor Who - BBC (2005-Present)
-- Show's been on forever, but to fit with the draft's imdb requirements, I'm officially taking the "season 2" relaunch starting in 2005. I've been finally watching this one over the last few weeks after years of being urged to check it out by many friends (including a fellow KFer).

With my next pick I am choosing a relatively new show that my hubby got me hooked on. :)

Deadliest Warrior (2009-Present)

Not too sure if many people of heard of this show. It is a show on Spike TV where historical warriors are pitted against each other to see who can outlast the other. Each episode showcases two warriors in a hypothetical battle to the death. Each warrior brings weapons from the group they are associated with.
Modern fighters and experts on said weapons present the strengths, and weaknesses of each arsenal, including real tests of the weapons. The data collected is then fed into a computer simulation to determine the average winner of one thousand battles. After the winner is determined, a mock battle takes place to showcase how each weapon is used in a real battle situation, and to determine which one is the "deadliest warrior".

My round 14 pick is going to be Big Cat Diary ( 1996 - Present )

Apparently this show was born on BBC, but I have only watched it on Animal Planet. Basically, its a documentary style show that follows various 'big cats' and what they do day to day. Big Cats meaning leopards, cheetahs, and Lions. Whats cool is they follow the same animals day to day, give them names .. name there children and everything .. its quite cool. Plus I have a HUGE giant orange cat that reminds of the cats on the show .. and he watches it too =]

The picture above is of Honey, the Cheetah, and her children. Being a single parent is tough :p

With my 15th pick I select the longest continually running television show in worldwide broadcasting history. The citizens of Kingstown Island will be glad to get their news from:

Meet the Press (1947-Present)

Woops. Apologies all around. I check the board every day except the day that I'm up....

Make-up picks, i'll make it short and sweet

Robot Chicken (2005-present) - Cartoon Network

Great little off-the-wall stop-motion sketch show with plenty of celebrity voice cameos.

Psych (2006-present) - USA network

Interesting buddy dramedy with plenty of fun episodes. Can be a little hit and miss, but the hits are worth it.

This is the ultimate filler pick. With a huge library of footage, I select Americas Funniest Home Videos (1989 - Present)

No need for a long description here. Plenty of videos to watch. Its almost like youtube before there was youtube. Its not always the best thing to watch on TV, but its always on TV.

Decided to go with one more cartoon to keep this interesting. With my next pick. Hey Hey Hey, Its........................

Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids (1972-1985)

Can't believe no one has taken this one since I've waited so long to draft it, but I'm not tempting fate anymore.

Get Smart - NBC/CBS (1965-1970) -- Just a huge number of incredibly funny people associated with this show. And easily one of the best opening themes on a TV show. Ever.

Spike

Subsidiary Intermediary
Staff member
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-Present)

Too many like-minded people in this draft. Last round I lost three of my picks. Grr!

Slipped my mind entirely last time around:

Black Books (2000-2004)

I had to have this one to complete my monopoly of cynical British sitcoms (although I seem to be the only one caring about this market...oh, well...). Black Books is another one of the hilariously abusive comedies I love. It also helps that the mastermind behind the show, Dylan Moran, is one of my favourite comedians and Bill Bailey, the one usually receiving all of the abuse, is likewise. I strongly suggest looking around youtube for both of them on their own, they're both great.
